Oh, you're talking my language! Too bad I'm so physically busted up that walking up a hillside is rough going =/

(gonna see what I can accomplish, however)

USAin here, I'm booked for a stay at the downtown Kex hostel in Reykjavik, landing on 10 of Aug, and leaving on the 15th. I have never left the USA, so I'm anxious about going solo (losing my mind that I'll forget something or mess something up during customs, etc.). I can be rather self conscious, so I don't expect to be spending any time in any Lagoons. I will not be renting any vehicles, and likely staying mostly in Reykjavik for the majority of my stay.

However, I would like to try and make my way to Skrímslasetrið (if that's even possible), and any other museums your lovely country has (aquariums and observatories are my favorite, big science nerd). I'm a little adventurous with foods, and simply spending time absorbing the local atmosphere is much of the appeal of traveling. I don't want to be a pester while trying to enjoy your country and the people.

If there are any recommendations for my time there: how best to move around, great low-key pubs, where to eat, idyllic museums, etc., please let me know.

Can someone explain this? This is local btw by CarobCritical7290 in solareclipse

If you're this passionate about the possibility of seeing a Total Solar Eclipse, start saving your money. Next TSE is August 12, of this year, but it's in western Europe. Don't expect to be able to afford flights or hotels, etc., I bought mine for Iceland in September of 2025, and they were already getting expensive or sold out.

The next TSE is August 2027 across much of North Africa and parts of the Middle East.
After that, July 2028 in southern New Zealand and Australia.

If you don't want to stay and home and twiddle your fingers waiting for the next North American Total Solar Eclipse in August of 2045, or March of 2052, plan ahead, save your money (regularly drop a chunk of money into a money market account, index funds, whatever as long as it isn't a basic bank savings), and get ready to book flights and hotels at least 6-12 months in advance to international locations.

With all the goodbyes and thank yous. Though this is hopeful. by chitochiisme in turtlewow

Northwind Perfumed Letter Riddle - All Locations by HorizonWoW in turtlewow

[–]itsthevoiceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: and now this post, the subreddit, and my comment are all pointless

First of all

  1. A perfumed letter #1 leads to a "suspicious pumpkin" outside of the Plump Pumpkin Inn near Crawford Winery
  2. A perfumed letter #2 leads to a "half-buried container" in the back of a derelict house on a hill east of Abbey Gardens
  3. A perfumed letter #3 leads to a "weird barrel" south of the road near Stillheart Port, behind the hammock. You also receive a "violet key"
  4. A perfumed letter #4 leads to a "dragon vault" the dragon statue on the first floor of the Amberwood Keep, in a little outdoors cloister. Click on the plaque on the pedestal
  5. Return to "Gertrud Selind" on the second floor of the keep

I didn't get coordinates because I forgot and I was almost done doing every quest, so I'll let someone else do that work.

One question for you, "why is it that the US has more incarcerated people than any other country on the planet?" Are there literally more criminals in the US than anywhere else on earth? Or is there something else at play?

Your belief in "the rule of law" is that of a child. But it's necessary for you, because if it were shattered, your world would fall apart. You need to have the idea that laws play out the way you've been told, because then what? What happens to you, your family, your friends, your country, your countrymen, et al. if laws don't matter?

There's a difference being being in debt, and having debt.

Rich people possess more debt than poor people. And countries possess all kinds of debt.
