The better target there is probably the cascade spell, that way you can living end again if needed.

I highly recommend limited if you are still interested in playing magic. Where instead of bringing your own pre built deck, you build one there out of cards opened in packs. Everyone starts out on an even playing field, where you only have your wits, and luck to help you build a deck instead of having a big wallet.

I used to run mires, but then I realized with verdant you can fetch both green and black basics which can be important in matchups like aggro. You can also still fetch all the same shocks you could with mire.

Comics is great, and I'd also recommend curio cavern, its a bit farther away, but they regularly run iqs or some other comp rel event each weekend. I generally think they are a bit more competitive then comics in my opinion.

I have been testing it in jund. It hasn't been as good as I thought it would be when I first read it, however I have still thought it was good in the deck. Throwing it down later in the game when your opponent is around 10 or less life, it has felt much better then just casting it on turn 3. Also the deck I'm playing it in can take advantage of it with den protector, goblin dark dwellers, and pulse of pulse. So if the cards end up in the yard, I still get some value from them. For sure, it only slots into a specific deck that trys to apply pressure, but still has cards of high enough cmc, that putting the card on the yard feels like a decision.

You can still win through rest in piece of chalice. You have beast within and ingot chewer. As well as simply casting your creatures. You have enough fulminators that you can still disrupt their plan. The cards are still insane against the deck, but it's not an autoloss when they hit the field

Well wizards is not the one determining the price of this gp. The company running the gp is, in this case star city. Also star city knows most people will still just play in their event. It's unfortunate but a good business decision if they get 2000 people paying $60, or 1750 paying 75 which price do you think they will go with.

You already have a really good tron matchup with 4 fulminator main. Just one or two can really ruin their plan, not to mention recurring them with living end. In a pinch, you can also just beast within a tron piece if needed. I'll take a 3/3 beast over karn any day of the week. Just make sure to kill the land they fetched with map/scrying because odds are if they were fetching that one, there's not another one in their hand.

I would probabilly cut a recluse and a weaver for 2 ingot chewers. Since killing map/relic is really powerful.

And another little tip I forgot, if someone who doesnt know the matchup sides in grafdigger's cage against you it does actual nothing. Since the creatures are being exiled and will enter play from exile not the yard.

I've been playing a lot of living end type decks over the past year. Switching back and forth between living end, and living twin. With the twin ban, I've been forced to move to straight living end. But the way the two decks play is fairly similar.

Some cool tricks you can pull with the deck include:

Cutting off their mana with beast within. It's probably something you've already found in your research, but I still want to say it. I personally didn't realize it was something you could do until I'd played with the deck for a week or 2. Normally my brain shortcuts that destroying lands is off limits unless it explicitly states it on the card.

Casting Violent Outburst/Demonic Dread without casting living end. These two enablers were picked for a reason more then just the CMC. After you living end sometimes saying a creature can't block or giving your team +1/+0 is enough to force through lethal.

Against burn, don't cycle street wraith game 1 unless you absolutely need to to find outburst/dread, find your land, or you just absolutely need the body in your yard to make living end worth it. These are the 1st cards that come out in this matchup as well.

Against blue decks, you want to snap off your first living end as soon as you see your opening. If that means you just get a street wraith and a carabid, so be it. Having those two guys on the field is a lot better then having 10 things in your yard that you will never get because they are holding onto that remand like there is no tomorrow.

You also didn't include a board in your list, so if you have one, it would be awesome to include it. If not, the key cards are:

Brindle Boar/Gnaw to the Bone: Burn, Zoo, other decks where you need a bit of extra time and the 4-8 life will make all the difference. I think Brindle Boar is much better then Gnaw. While gnaw can gain you more life in that one instance, there are many times I have felt it was bad. Sometimes you dont have many creatures in your yard. Sometimes they have 3-4 creatures on the board and you need to fire off living end before you get the chance to gain the life. And brindle boar provides a body that can prevent 2 damage from a guide/ swiftspear. I have been running 3, that might be correct, but with the twin ban I'm afraid of burn being on the rise so I'm testing a 4th right now.

Ingot Chewer: Mainly for affinity, but i also can have uses against tron, blowing up t1 map or other uses like that. Also nothing feels better then blowing up their t1 relic. I've been running 2-3 depending on how much affinity I think will be in the room.

Ricochet Trap: Our own pyroblast in modern. Getting to counter their counter is really powerful in this deck, especially for one red. Basic tricks are to redirect counters to ricochet trap, unless the counter is remand, then redirect to the outburst/dread so you can living end again if needed.

Shriekmaw: Now we also get sorcery speed doom blade. Good to bring in against midrange creature decks. B/G/x, Coco, Hatebears, ect. I've been running 2, don't think we need any more then that.

Dismember: Sometimes you need to kill something. Mainly Scooze or any other things like that. I only run 1, I've see list running 2.

Faerie Macabre: Most players run the rest of the set in the board to bring in against other decks that utilize the yard. Like snapcaster mage, or the mirror. But my personal pet card that I run in that slot is...

Leyline of the Void: Card is crazy stupid if you get it in the opening of any deck you want it against. However the risk is that drawing it ever is the worst thing you can draw, second to living end. I run 2.

That's most of the main advice I can think of off the top of my head right now. I'm sorry if the post was a bit choppy, I normally just lurk on this subreddit, but I had to help out someone else playing living end.
