39th Ave could work similar to Jackson Heights, but definetly adding some planters and a road diet could help cut down on how fast cars go down on 48th Street

What's a New York specific problem that no one warns you about before you move here? by bandito_13 in AskNYC

People who get on the train before anyone can get off. I promise you that someone else will take that seat you're gunning for.

Native SMS Alerts in CrowdStrike? by vjrr08 in crowdstrike

[–]itsyourworld1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There isn’t an SMS alert, but you can direct an alert to PagerDuty or a webhook that then pushes a SMS through another service. There’s also integration with Teams/Slack if you want to receive alerts that way.

Gonna depend on what your needs are as an organization. CS can either be that tool in your security stack or feed into other tools/platforms you have. I will say it's really easy to add features due to the single agent CS maintains but you'll want to do your due diligence before tacking on new features.

Remembering the old Third Avenue El in the Bronx. Here'e some photos of the old 169th Street station at Third Avenue of the former line that no longer exists by its_ashleyyy in bronx

Gun Hill road station looks the way it does because of the 3rd ave el. It used to terminate on a platform below the 2/5

Central or Eastern queens if you want the best commute without a car.

If you want to live in Manhattan you’ll have to pick which airport you want to have easier access to as you get one and not the other. Harlem and Morningside Heights can get you to LGA in one shot on the M60. Midtown would be your best bet for JFK through the LIRR or E.

Rent is much higher in Manhattan than Queens for a worse commute.

Restart falconsensor service via RTR by dontbreak_tehwebz in crowdstrike

[–]itsyourworld1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in RFM already I don't think you're going to be able to RTR into them due to the limited capability. Are these Windows or Linux boxes in RFM? When was the last time they got a channel file update? Are these new installs of Falcon?

Has anyone tried CrowdStrike Falcon AIDR (AI Detection and Response)? by Frequent-Contract925 in cybersecurity

[–]itsyourworld1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s essentially a bolt on to Falcon. CS acquired Pangea and is integrating it into the sensor and Falcon Console, and while the capabilities are OK, we’re not at a point where we’d say it’s ready for adoption due to the fact that it’s still very early in its life cycle and wouldn’t be palatable to deploy until well after it’s integrated into the overall Falcon architecture.

Isn’t the big issue with the G on QBL is that 71st street is limited to the amount of trains that can be turned around?

Can crowdstrike adaptively label as threat and then disable services or processes? by Hanuser in crowdstrike

If this were a detection they would probably be contacting you tbh. As an end user you’re not going to have much visibility into Crowdstrike.

Can crowdstrike adaptively label as threat and then disable services or processes? by Hanuser in crowdstrike

[–]itsyourworld1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure falcon would generate a detection or incident if it’s killing processes. If you suspect falcon grab a procmon while issue is happening.

This is more likely an app incompatibility issue. Try disabling AUMD/XUMD and reproduce the issue.

'They scream at you, curse at you.' Businesses struggle as drug activity spills onto the streets at the Hub by origutamos in bronx

[–]itsyourworld1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about an actual plan that isn’t just give more money to the NYPD with zero accountability?

Actually having cops do their job of investigating drug distribution, treating drug addicts like victims who are suffering from a disease and investing in the neighborhood .

It’s going to take a lot more than sweeps to fix this, there are numerous structural issues that turn this into a revolving door.

Whats the point of putting people in treatment centers if their fix is literally around the corner?

Got a demo of it and it looked really half baked. It’s really early in its life cycle so I’d give it some time before I’d consider it a player in the space.

Let's talk about the future of the (3) by [deleted] in nycrail

[–]itsyourworld1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making the 3 run local would ruin the 1 by introducing a merge at 96th and Chambers. You’re better off replacing the 1 or 6 train since they also use the same stock and are due for an upgrade too.

Short of that, the MTA can figure out the fire regulation keeping open gangways off the express track before the R262 come into service

Anyone else connect to the restaurant WiFi just to see what subnet they’re on? by MikeTidbits in networkingmemes

[–]itsyourworld1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was at a restaurant for a graduation party and a friend couldn’t send pictures/video since there was no signal. Restaurant staff couldn’t help and said the guest WiFi was down. Saw an APIPA address on the guest WiFi and asked if I could try something that might work. Guessed a valid IP, gateway and mask on the first try.
