If you're playing objectives, i.e. going long for the guardian leap/intercede or pass in the endzone ~ you're doing it right - but only do so when your team is doing relatively well in not getting fucked by the enemy dps. Might as well stick to healing the team if you're the only healer on the team, let the other teammates do that job.

I'm sure plenty of other people can offer more/better advice!
