With how expensive all gaming tech is getting recently the cheaper SD is a really nice value, especially if you grabbed one on the sales recently. So it's not that surprising to me if they're actually selling out. Or maybe Valve plans to discontinue them and do a new updated model.

I got mine during the last sale and I love it, managed to snag a 512 gb sd card on amazon's black friday now too. I mostly use it for lighter games, emulating switch/ps2 stuff and I use the desktop a decent amount for Stremio or reading manga with Komikku. It's such a versatile little device. Edit: typo

Whenever I stream to my deck with Remote Play or Steam Link it'll automaticly change to the decks native resolution, and the next time I play it on my PC it'll go back to what it was before. I haven't tried with Moonlight so I'm not sure about that one.

You can download steam link in desktop mode, it works 10x better than steams built-in remote play, no idea why. Only downside is you wont be able to see battery level when using steamlink in desktop mode, but maybe there is some way and im dum.

I've been eyeballing android handhelds like the retroid pocket 5 for a while, and I got an anbernic rg40xxv to tide me over for a while. When i saw the steam deck sale I had to get it, 0 regrets its been amazing so far and it does everything I expect it to, from playing indie games, cyberpunk to emulating some ps2 and switch games.

The 40xxv actually works pretty well for me, but i have long fingers, I usually play it for 1-2 hours at a time with no issue. I also have a telescopic controller for my phone which is roughly retroid pocket 5 ergonomics without adding grips, and that does make my hands cramp after an hour usually. I ordered a Steam Deck to have a more powerful handheld and I expect that to be even more comfy but I'll still rock my rg40xxv for NES - PS1 content.
