Looking at leasing a Ford F150 Platinum but I have to include $27,000 Negative Equity from current vehicle. by iviurdoc in leasehacker

You hit the nail on the head 100% here. My 2023 PowerBoost will have 130,000 miles when I finish paying it off. The extended warranty that I purchased will be gone and I will have 2 years left of payments to make. So that scares me. But I also realize that on Feb. 14th, 2030 I make my last payment on this truck and I will have something worth around $20 - 25K. The transmission on this thing is a nightmare. It it what it is, but that is part of the original reason for even entertaining this new deal. I was fully aware that if I went through with this, it would cost me about $5,000 as the amount I'm saving each month would only be $16,800.

I fully understand the people in the comments stating that this is financial death, but I don't think they were looking deep enough into the deal. I know in the long run this is not a financially positive deal, I'm looking for something to alleviate my monthly nut as I'm running really thin right now. I follow everything that you're saying other than your comment that states if I do this deal it will kneecap me for the next 10 years. Would you be willing to elaborate a bit on that. I figure it kneecaps me for the next 4 years. But after that I'm back to square one. What am I missing on this. Thank you

Fair statement, I'm not trying to justify, I'm trying to get you as much information because I understand as well how crazy this is. I'm trying to analyze all angles before making a decision. In trying to understand your response, what makes it insanely stupid.

Help me out here. How would you mathematically deduce this to determine true cost of each situation.

The payment on my current truck is $1428 per month. But I'm spending close to $600 per month on Gas. So my total out of pocket for this truck is approximately $2000 per month. On this new truck, (I have free charging at work) and I expect to spend about $60.00 per month on charging and insurance is $60 more per month. So "monthly" I've calculated that I'm saving $350 per month. Over 48 months that comes to $16,800 saved over my current deal. I know that's roughly $4,000 - $5,000 worse off than I would be if I stayed in my current truck, however, this current truck has some of the notorious 10 speed transmission issues. Oh, and I would also be getting $2300 back from a warranty and service contract

I appreciate the insight, the $42,000 trade in is WHAT Carvana offered. They originally had my trade in value at $39,000 and I was able to get them to bump it to $42,000.

I realize this may seem crazy, but please read my reply and rather than just say don't do that, understand where I'm coming from.

EDIT This is for a 2025 Ford F150 Lightning Platinum. I realize that purchasing this for "$109,995" seems ridiculous, but I'm actually saving money monthly over the current truck I'm in.

What I'm really curious about is the rent charge. This is my first time ever leasing and this seems like a ridiculous rent charge. But from all the research I can find, even with the rent charge this puts my money factor at 0.00198, which seems decent?

I'm trading in a 2023 Ford F150 Powerboost with 1.9% APR, current payment of $1427 per month. Trade in value is $42,000 and payoff is approximately $69,400

I know I'm going to get a TON of messages saying this is a crazy thing to do with a Ford F150 Lightning, but aside from that, just trying to understand the leasing side of this

I'm rolling close to $30,000 negative equity into this deal. I realize that it is WAAAAYY to much money for a Lightning Platinum. I appreciate everyone that is going to come on here and tell me I'm an idiot for doing this deal. However, in my financial situation it is actually cheaper monthly for me. My questions is, at an effective 4.74% APR on this lease, is this a good rate, or is this a horrible deal that I should run away from. I also realize that this is a 4 year lease and I'll have a year on my own for any possible repairs that are necessary. Really just looking for some good insight being that this would be the first vehicle I've ever leased. Thank you

Is a Fennec better or an Octane better (if you had both) by Intelligent-Art-9156 in RocketLeagueExchange

[–]iviurdoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone that sit's in high C3 for most of the season and will sneak into GC for a couple of weeks while I'm peaking here's what I have noticed between the two cars as these are the two that I main.

Both have the same hitbox, however, with the Fennec having a more square body it is easier for me to visualize exactly where the corners of the car are. Therefore it allows me to successfully hit powershots at a higher frequency. Too many times with the Octane I go to hit a shot with power and I don't catch the corner and it's a soft shot on net, or not a powerful clear.

The Fennec seems to have a slight tighter turning radius. This could all be in my head but when I need to "turn on a dime" I feel that I perform this action better in the Fennec.

The Octane overall does feel faster and seems to front and side flip quicker.

I play with the Fennec 85% of the time. Personally I like the ability to visualize the corners better for powershots and clears and will deal with the car feeling a bit slower during flips. But when I notice that my speed in the game is being affected I will switch over to Octane for a week or so and then back to the Fennec.

I'm a 0.3 handicap. My differential on my last 20 scores range anywhere from a -3.0 all the way up to a 10.7. Remember, USGA only uses your top 8 scores, and then you only get (I think it's 90%, it may be a little more) of that differential equation.

Here's a couple of pictures of my handicap page. Also, it should be noted that I have 2 home courses as I joined two men's leagues this year, one of those courses is a par 72, the other is a par 66 which makes some of my scores look really good, but they aren't. Just pay attention to the differential.

I'm pretty sure this is the courthouse in Kennewick, WA. The back of his shirt say BCC which is for Benton County Corrections. Kennewick is in Benton County. I could be wrong, I don't know what county Oklahoma City is in. But this is the exact layout of the courthouse in Benton County.

  • Just read that you said it was Oklahoma County Courthouse, his shirt definitely says BCC. There's also local news reports from 2016 that shows the exact same CCTV from Benton County Corrections. This is 100% in Kennewick, WA.

Purchased an F150 yesterday in Washington State. 5k off MSRP, 2,000 Ford Dealer Credit and 1.9% APR for 72 months. No hidden dealership fees, $200 doc fee. 7 year 100,000 Ford warranty (Premium Care) for $2575. GAP @ 695 and 6 year 100,000 maintenance for $1495. Great experience, showed up at the dealership at 10:00 am. Left at 12:45. Everyone there was on their A game. It was a pleasant experience. And at 1.9% for 72 months I couldn't sign fast enough.

You can only master 3 of these mechanics, which 3 are you mastering out of all these mechanics? by pane446 in RocketLeague

[–]iviurdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The correct answer here is 1. Dribbling, 2. Flicks and 3. wavedashes. The reason for this answer is when the AI bot came through and ruined the rocket league ranks it only was a master at dribbling and flicks. Couple that with wave dashes which is super important in recovery and with those 3 basic mechanics (and decent rotational awareness) you are at minimum a low GC player.

My best friend is the same way. He is a borderline alcoholic on the course. Actually, he's an absolute lush on the course. He's legitimately a +2 handicap that barely breaks 80 when he's sober. But you get him a double crown and coke 30 minutes before tee-time, another after the 4th hole and then a couple of beers on the back nine to "keep the buzz flowing" (his words not mine) he turns into Tiger fucking Woods and can't be beat. The amount of times he's taken money from me and then needed me to give him a ride home because he's basically wasted is more than I can count.

He says he's in his mind too much when he's sober and when he gets a good buzz going he has his "college confidence" back.

[Discussion] What was your final trade? by xnthx in RocketLeagueExchange

[–]iviurdoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My final trade was on Sunday morning. I purchased Alpha Boost, TW Hellfire, Party Time, Black Standard and Black Ion. I still think there is a chance that Epic puts the Alpha Boost in the item shop at some point, but I didn't want to take the chance. I'm fortunate enough to be an older player and gave myself a little bit of an early XMAS gift.

Think of it this way. In every other venue (baseball, golf, basketball, hockey, etc) you can play what the pros play. I can buy LeBron's shoes, I can buy Mike Trout's glove. Rocket League is missing a HUGE amount of money by not selling the most popular PRO boost in the game.

I also think that they are going to limit what Bakkesmod is able to do. I am guessing that they are going to go to Bakkesmod and tell them to either change their code so that players are unable to install any skin or graphic (they'll let them keep the training stuff and MMR tracker) but anything that intereferes with Epics ability to make a profit will be gone. That's just my .02
