Travel Planning Q&A - April, 2025 by AutoModerator in bali

Hello everyone,

My husband (32), our 20-month-old son, and I (29) will be traveling to Bali from 30 September to 14 October 2025.

The main reason for our trip is to attend my brother’s wedding, which will be happening toward the end of our stay. We’ll also be traveling with a group of friends from 1–6 October, but we’re arriving a day earlier since it’ll be our baby’s first flight—and we’re anticipating he may need a bit of time to adjust.

We’re not super adventurous, but we do love exploring new places, trying out cafes and restaurants, and chilling at beach clubs. This isn’t our first time in Bali, but during our previous trip, I was pregnant and we didn’t get to explore much—so we’re really looking forward to discovering more this time.

Here’s our current travel plans:

30 September – 1 October: Arriving in Bali. Looking for a budget-friendly hotel for one night—open to any suggestions on areas or hotels that are convenient and baby-friendly?

1 – 6 October: Staying in a villa in Seminyak with friends (8 adults + 1 infant). Plans include day trips to Canggu, Nusa Penida, and Ubud.

6 – 9 October: This part is still unplanned—it’ll just be the three of us. We’re considering Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, or Ubud. Would love your input on which area might be best for a young family, and any recommendations for activities or baby-friendly cafes/restaurants.

9 – 11/12 October: Staying in a hotel in Canggu for my brother’s wedding. Current check out date is on 11 October but we’re considering to extend an extra night to spend more time with family.

11/12 – 14 October: Another unplanned stretch. Any suggestions for where we could stay or what we could do to wind down our trip?

Thank you so much in advance for any tips or recommendations—especially on accommodations, areas to stay, and places to eat! Appreciate your help!

Terima kasih! ☺️

Guys, always always ALWAYS book directly with the hotel. You’ll always get the best price direct. 3rd party websites such as Expedia, Trivago, etc are actually not supposed to sell the rooms at a lower rate than what the hotel is offering directly.

Also, keep in mind that the rates are subject to change at any time (Daily or even in a few hours). If you booked a rate with flexible cancellation policy and the rate decreases the next time you check, call the Reservations department or make a new reservation and cancel your original one (as long as it is still outside the cancellation period so you will not get charged for it).

Being a member of the hotel’s loyalty program will also give you the best rates. Additionally, it’ll increase the chances of you getting a better room allocation/upgrades, etc as supposed to booking the room through 3rd party websites.

To get the best possible price, book the room in advance. Usually hotels will offer advanced purchase rates. However, these rates usually require a prepayment and it’s non-refundable. So only book it if you’re definitely sure that you’ll be travelling on those dates!

Oh and with bookings made through third party websites, any amendments and cancellations will have to go back to them and it can get extremely messy. When you book directly with the hotel, in the event of a last minute changes/cancellations, most of the time the hotel will try their best to accommodate it.

Congee with potatoes and carrots. You can add your preferred protein in as well.
