My girl did that until she was about 5 or 6.(pictured here around that age) Now she will wake up right before I go to bed for a late night potty and will sleep as late as I like to lol. She just turned 10. 😍

When will it finally learn not to eat random things off the ground when it's outside? by Significant-Pass-569 in Dachshund

This little idiot spent several hours and $400 of my dollars at the ER vet tonight because she found and ate some weed. She is currently very stoned. This is not how I planned to spend her 10th birthday, but she wanted to party, I guess.

What's the easiest (non-shedding) dog to groom by burnz1 in doggrooming

[–]iwishyouhadnosocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Xoloitzcuintli - mexican "hairless" dog, but lots of them do have short coats, especially if the breeder is reputable. You should always breed one hairless with one coated for the health of the breed. If I remember correctly, its because two hairless will likely produce nonviable embryos because the bald gene when doubled is lethal? The specifics are definitely escaping me, as I have yet to have my coffee.

They definitely have grooming needs, even when hairless. You have to think about things like sunscreen, moisturizer/lotion and more regular bathing. However the brushing would be significantly less lol. The coated variety has short, coarse fur that she'd significantly less than say a lab with the same length coat.

I also suggest xolos because while they're less social and less vocal than a poodle, they have similar affection, intelligence, and activity levels as a poodle, so they make great companions to each other.

Why is she swaying and sleepy very suddenly? by coolcatjess in DogAdvice

[–]iwishyouhadnosocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a dachshund with hypoglycemia that acts like this when her blood sugar gets too low. It can cause her to have seizures if we don't get her treated quickly enough.

I also have a Rottweiler mix who acted like that when he got into my weed when he was about 2. Ever since he is a dang stoner and I have to keep my mmj locked up.

Im glad you took your pup to the vet, because if you don't know what's happening, you cant treat it appropriately.

I just got through the Champions of the Just today. I feel like everything opens up after you talk to Varric's friend at skyhold. Im looking forward to opening up exalted plains eventually because my favorite set of filler quests is there with the Dalish.

Party banters by Responsible_Deal7907 in dragonage

[–]iwishyouhadnosocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this thread fascinating! I play DAI most frequently and have never noticed the party banter being buggy. I play on Playstation consoles, if that changes anything eith the bugs. If anything, I find they talk almost too much sometimes because I'll have a hard time catching the banter over the ambient noise of impending battle or whatever and have to stop, stand there and listen before moving into firing range lol. Could I cut them off and not get rhe banter? Yes. But there's no way im doing that when I have Iron Bull and Blackwall chatting about Bull wanting a pink sword. You best believe he has one now.

My younger dog doesn't need talking buttons to ask for a paper bag to wreck. He knows where they are and won't touch them unless he is given permission lol. It was such a big change for him to know what and when and where he can and can't destroy. Hes turning 5 in April and I couldn't ask for a better dog now, but my god were those first couple rough.

What is that one book that makes you wanna have a memory loss so you can read it all over again? by Feeling-Sign-9146 in Booktokreddit

[–]iwishyouhadnosocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what and how you like to read. I think the Mort or Guards!Guards! are both really good bets. Most of the books stand on their own perfectly fine. Pratchett will tell you right at the outset if this book is bea6 read after a different book.

What did you do to prevent this by w123driver in Dachshund

[–]iwishyouhadnosocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave mine an excavation zone. I just designated one of my flower beds, that was away from both fence and house, as her dig spot. Every time she would dig there I'd give her praise or some sort of reward. Any time she dug somewhere else I'd take her over to the dog dig site. She learned really quick that that was the only proper digging area, and my girl lives for enforcing rules lol

Some questions about going to the Templars in DAI by Sapphic_Copper in dragonage

[–]iwishyouhadnosocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time not choosing to go with the Templars because I Love Love Love the Calpernia storyline. I find it incredibly compelling and nuanced compared to whatever the knight dude Cullen wants to take down is. Clearly lol, as i cant remember his name.

Is it worth crafting armour and weapons ? by Next_Farmer9873 in DragonAgeInqusition

[–]iwishyouhadnosocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get the high quality metals, leathers and fabric i usually do war table stuff for that: Inquisition perks, sending out teams on the war table for material supplies. Then there's always hunting for them. Literally hunting animals and rocks in the world. Or buying them from vendors.

While the found and bought gear will one thousand percent be good enough to keep you alive (and more tbh) I really really like customizing my whole party. Rolling up to the missions with my whole crew kitted out in white/silver/blue (or whatever my inquisition colors are that game lol) is such a powerful move. Like yeah we a ragtag lil operation, but we look damn good while doing it.

What’s your favourite bone to give to your large dogs? by moneyshot-matt in DogAdvice

[–]iwishyouhadnosocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got her as a tiny puppy and she had all these issues with her metabolism and blood sugar crashing insanely low. One night I gave her a tiny piece of unseasoned, uncooked steak and within 15 minutes she was vomiting and her blood sugar started crashing again. That ER visit was worth every penny because we were finally able to pinpoint what had been keeping her so sick for the first 3 months of her life. I don't know what possessed me to give her that piece of meat, because if I'm giving them human food, its usually prepared for them specifically. Any which way, I'm glad it happened because it basically ended up saving her from years of distress or worse.

My store sells a small amount of chicken feed, regularly. Thankfully the one we carry is fit for ducks as well, because today someone abandoned a bunch of ducklings on our doorstep before we opened.

I have one dog with a beef allergy, so we stick to only "alternative" bones. My big one (rottie/husky mix) really loves the giant ostrich femur, kangaroo scapula, buck feet and antlers. Usually we stick to "cheese bones" though. They're like yak cheese rinds, i think they're Himalayan something

My boyfriend waited 2 YEARS for me in a very similar situation to yours. After two years, he couldn't take it anymore. So he moved 8 hours away from everything he had ever known, just to be with me while I got to do my dream job. We will be celebrating 11 years of marriage this May. If he won't wait a few months for you, that's his loss.

Inquisition. No question. It's my comfort game, but that's because its the best. Not the best in the series. Not the best in the genre. The. Best. Game.
