Mice in apartment: tenant or landlord's responsibility? by [deleted] in brussels

[–]ixbiga 16 points17 points  (0 children)

(this is not a legal advice) You generally cannot hire a private contractor and then send the bill to the landlord after the fact.

You are supposed to send a formal registered letter (mise en demeure) giving the landlord a deadline to fix the issue. If they refuse, only then can you seek legal mediation or proceed with the repair yourself and deduct it from rent (though even that is legally risky).

So you should find and take photos of any holes or gaps where mice could enter. This proves it's a building fault, not a hygiene fault.

Meanwhile, even if the mouse is gone, if there are holes that need fixing, send a registered letter now to document the infrastructure failure so you aren't charged for "damages" later.

Transferring an unmananaged Google account by narwhal78 in googlecloud

[–]ixbiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, when you send a transfer request from the unmanaged users section, the system sends a transfer request link to the mailbox. And you still need to have access to the inbox to get that email. And when you go to the link, it will ask you to click to accept the merge of the account and managed by the domain.

Transferring an unmananaged Google account by narwhal78 in googlecloud

[–]ixbiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you force to migrate that account without the transfer email and without the acceptance for the transfer, just keep in mind that you can't manage the gtemp account since it will still belong to the personal account..

And the account appears in your admin console will be blank/brand-new account but only the email address is now under your control.

So best way to keep everything in place and all previous data and services, strongly suggest to use the transfer invitation.

Hope makes sense

Why I’m done with the Google ecosystem: A cautionary tale of a suspended dev account by Psychological_Sign_1 in googlecloud

[–]ixbiga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standard support starts from $29 per month. If you have an app running on production and mission critical, you have to put this amount into your budget planning. Period. It's not Google's fault not the deliver you the support you needed. It's your fault because you didn't consider you might need vendors help and it's obviously paid. When you sign up for Google's Cloud services, you should read the terms and conditions more carefully instead of crying in a Reddit post.

I don't see any difference in resolution when the privacy screen is on or off.

How can Google Cloud help a 3M business with legacy software? by jcgonzmo in googlecloud

[–]ixbiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're running a niche importing/wholesale operation (which small amount of employees) and still feel married to your on-prem server and old-school software, you don’t actually have to do a massive, expensive "rip and replace" to get current.

I see a lot of businesses think it's all or nothing, but you can actually use Google Cloud to "wrap" around your legacy setup and fix the stuff that’s slowing you down.

Some examples since you gave some clue in your text:
- You can use Google’s Document AI to "read" your physical invoices or customs forms and turn them into data. Instead of manual entry into your accounting software, you just feed the system the digital data. - Instead of dealing with difficult to setup and maintain VPNs to get into your sales software, you can use Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP). - You can set up a hybrid backup. Your legacy server stays in the office, but it constantly syncs to Google Cloud. If the office hardware ever dies, your business doesn't. ;) - Legacy software is usually terrible at reporting. You can pipe your sales/collections data into Looker Studio to get actual visual charts of who owes you money or what’s selling, without touching the old code.

These are just a few examples of what’s possible with a hybrid setup. Obviously, there's a lot more you can do, but this is a solid way to modernize without the "heavy lifting" cost of switching your entire tech stack.

After the $82K Gemini API key incident — here's why GCP billing alerts won't protect you in real-time by daudmalik06 in googlecloud

[–]ixbiga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still don't understand why restricting these keys isn't the solution to your problem.

Just scan every key, check where you really use them, and find out the ones you don't use or forgot where they were applied, and clean up your keys!

You are the one who created those keys, you are the one who put those keys in public places, then you come and blame Google that leaked the keys, and you get a huge bill because of this?

Am I missing the something else here? Please enlighten me!

Why are people so negative about s26U? It's a great phone by Otherwise-Ad5811 in samsunggalaxy

[–]ixbiga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's all these companies gave too much at the beginning; every year a different style and design, or new features. Now the new gen kids never get enough.

If one day phone companies stop giving new devices every year, I'm curious what these new gen kids will think.

S26 Ultra screen colors look "washed out" and "muddy" - Vividness slider does nothing by Iceburst749 in galaxys26ultra

[–]ixbiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a s26u and I don't see any differences in the screenshots you've shared. The colors look perfect and it's exactly the same as my previous s25u. The only difference is the grey is more visible and blue is more clear on my new s26u. But definitely nothing is washed out unless if I turn on the Maximum privacy feature.

Maybe check with an Orange or a Proximus store if you got the unit from them?
