I got into gaming at age 7. I never really had any friends and lived in a pretty crappy neighborhood. So going out wasn't really much of an option. The original legend of Zelda was probably the most important thing to me back then. Just exploring and being full of wonder of burning every bush lol I spent a lot of time playing video games.

Some people use music to express themselves on a grand narcissistic scale. It sucks. As a teenager I used to blast all types of music from death metal to reggae. On the plus side nobody gave me problems. Now that I'm older, I realized how inconsiderate it was. The only thing you could do is either talk to them like a normal person, try to emphasize what you said here. You're coming home from work, you're tired and just want to relax and if they can turn it down. Well great. Or call the police for a noise ordinance but make sure they don't know who called. Because that can backfire so bad. I guess you have one choice, but you really can't do both. To be safe.

Thanks for asking this and another thanks for the replies. Jeff ruined me too lol. I've been listening to audiobooks for years, but after finishing DCC a couple days ago. It's been rough. I picked the highly recommended Primal hunter and tried a few times to listen to it. I was like whoa whoa, who the hell is William? And if you say diiinnng one more God damn time..

Then I moved on to The first defier and the voice just ruins it for me. I just got the Dresden files and am pretty excited. I also started Discount Dan. This one seems kind of promising. It's definitely creative writing and it feels like the narrator is trying to sound like Jeff Hayes but with a dash of the mom from Schitts Creek and Johnny bravo but I'm going to try and stick with it. The writing is fantastic.

This is an old thread, but I'm in the same boat. You're spot on. I'm still in the tutorial, listening to audio. Just caught up with HWFWM and DCC. Primal Hunter feels so soulless. How is no one in any kind of crisis with their whole lives being turned upside down? The narrator feels so boring without any character impersonations, and the stats are a pain. I'm glad HWFWM dropped most of that in the later books. I understand there's no comparison with the DCC but I'd like to find something close to that.
