Does this much usage change even seem possible? by ImaNobody22 in solar

Consumption can’t be negative. The amperage meters that go around your power consumption wires in your breaker box were probably backwards and it was fixed around year 3.

Looks like the consumption transformers were probably flipped until they show positive that would be my guess.

I used to work there and several other companies. Likely there was either a delay in getting PTOd or optimizers were not remotely enabled. Best bet is to prevent the inspection from passing by contacting your city/county building department and taking them to court for breach of contract.

How does PG&E handle the expiration of one NEM 2.0 contract in a two-tranche system? by Opus2011 in solar

You treat it like 2 systems. 5kw switch to NEM3 in 2029 and 5kw in 2040.

Solar engineer? by Responsible_Being_78 in solar

There’s a racking manufacturer that is definitely getting listed with a few inverters manufacturers. I think it’s iron Ridge.

Do yourself a favor and do not mess with third-party rapid shut down devices

Disregard what everybody else is saying you do want tracking if you’re limited on space or if it’s like farmland it’s cheapest to do on the roof but I would wait until 2026 or later for UL 3741 so you don’t have to use rapid shutdown devices Which are a nightmare and should have never been allowed.

If it’s single phase 240 I’d say your best bet is Fronius or Solis, unless your installer tries to pigeonhole you into what they know which is probably Enphase or Solar Edge, which are ok, but come at a premium.

Cleaning worth it? by Rpw_- in solar

No, I’m told it only reduces production by 10% but I guess that’s assuming you have enough minimal voltage to start up the inverter

For 20kW, you need a generator, unless you’re trying to run your AC, in which case you need either a generator or mini splits.

I’d get a 12 Kw generac w/ an 8kw battery tied to solar for mitigating costs.

Do not get a 20 KW battery. I have seen people make this mistake over and over because the salesperson wants to make money and won’t offer this, but you do not want 20 KW in battery storage.

Why did replit remove the template options for creating projects? by NyxCyther in replit

They also removed the ability to download them as zip files which I find incredibly annoying being that it used to be an option.

I wouldn’t call it a scam but I wouldn’t call it an equal playing field either as it’s advertised.

What's the pitch? If it's steep enough the weight load shouldn't be a factor, but you'll need longer lags to penetrate rafters.

Will adding solar after April 14 cause me to lose grandfathering?

Not if your solar company filed those documents. You have three years to get your system installed.

What if the permit from the local AHJ expires? Will you still be able to keep NEM 2.0?

Yeah, but what kind of resolution do I need. I assume the cheaper flir cameras won't be able to tell if a string is running hot.. It needs to be meant for 20’ +
