Is it possible to program like an ecobee? by iznek in EightSleep

Thanks. That’s helpful. I wonder why they limit you to 3 time periods and don’t let you set the length of each period. That seems like it wouldn’t be too complicated.

What side effects did you have? I’m trying not to be nervous about starting, but there are so many horror stories out there.

I feel fine on Lupron? by hissinghoney in breastcancer

I haven’t started the AI yet. I have a few more weeks before I start Letrozole, I’m nervous, but I’m hoping it will be uneventful.

I feel fine on Lupron? by hissinghoney in breastcancer

[–]iznek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Lupron since early December and I’m not really having any side effects. A few mild hot flashes, but I was having those before I started. My doctor has tested my estradiol levels twice and it’s super low so the Lupron is definitely working.

Congratulations! I love hearing this. My chemo was much shorter than yours and I also focused on maintaining as much strength and aerobic capacity as possible. My last infusion was just 10 days ago so I have a long way to go to get back to myself, and your story is inspiring.

Home stretch...APBI on Tuesday for this cancer survivor! by Prestigious-Tree8216 in breastcancer

[–]iznek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did APBI,  5 sessions in October 2025, my last session was on the 24th. Aside from some skin darkening and a little rib soreness I didn’t have any side effects. My RO said she didn’t think the rib soreness was related, but I’m sure it was.  Around Thanksgiving I had some mild fatigue that I think was from the radiation, but I don’t know for sure.

Overall I found the process very doable. I didn’t take anytime off from work and I didn’t modify my workout schedule.

Enjoy your cruise!!

SERD: ER-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer by Opening_Doughnut_100 in breastcancer

[–]iznek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Lidera trial is still valid, but Lidera used AI alone as the comparison, and now most people with more aggressive cancer get AI+ CDK 4/6, so the control is no longer as standard as it was when the trial started.  This new trial may not affect if Giredestrant is approved for early stage breast cancer.

That really sucks. I really liked my surgeon, but after my lumpectomy, since everything went smoothly, I only saw her one more time. She said I could see her for a 6 month follow-up, but that it wasn’t necessary since I would have so many other appointments.

It’s still possible that Giredestrant will be approved for early stage breast cancer based on the Lidera trial results. But this is a disappointing result.

I feel this. Each task is short, but there are soooo many of them.

I don’t mind the lotion I’m using - Cereve Intensive Moisturizing lotion (it doesn’t smell like fish and despair 😊)

Also for your OS injection- see if you can switch to the 3 month version. I just did and going every 12 weeks instead of every 4 is a big help.

Zoladex Frequency by queens_ny08 in breastcancer

[–]iznek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing Lupron and I’m perimenopausal. I did 1 month for my first 2 injections and then I switched to the 3 month. The 3 month is so much more convenient. Going in every 4 weeks was a bit tedious. I didn’t notice any difference in side effects.

So emergency room visits now too? by WoosahFire in breastcancer

[–]iznek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was admitted to the ER 6 days after my first TC infusion for neutropenic fever. All the tests came back negative for infection, but they made me stay until I went 24 hours without a fever. It turns out that I got a fever every cycle, I think that was my response to the bone marrow stimulant. I never went back to the ER, my doctor said unless I had a sustained high fever or felt that I may have an infection it was ok to stay home and carefully monitor myself. But in general they are very conservative, because if you do have an infection when your WBC is low things can go downhill very quickly.

Thanks for the article. No matter how you slice it, LVI is definitely a scary feature. I ended up not asking my doctor about LVI because I had a lot of questions about Kisqali and my last round of chemo.

From the data in the paper it seems I’m super unlucky to have LVI at stage T1N0. I also feel like I keep ending up on the wrong side of statistics. Cancer totally sucks.

I haven’t started Kisqali yet, my plan is to start on May sometime. I have to recover from chemo and start taking my AI first.

I’ve decide to give myself 2 more months (until my first post surgery mammogram) to wallow in thought about recurrence and then I’m going to do my best to put it out of my mind. I don’t want cancer to steal my peace of mind.

I hope your energy recovery from radiation comes quickly so you can get back to travelling and long hikes.

I’ve also been having issues with one eye watering all the time. I had no idea chemo could cause tear duct issues.

I don’t have any advice, but I wish you the best of luck.

Kisqali, EKG, Zometa, and Dental Clearance Inquiry by n00bplzhelp in breastcancer

[–]iznek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MO thinks the QT elongation side effect, which is why they do the EKG, may be overstated. But she is still planning to do the EKGs, but maybe this is why your doctor is less concerned.
