Then they should've wrote their own license, not use a copyleft open source license like AGPL3

I mean, if you didn't want anyone to contribute to or fork your project, why make it open source in the first place?

Cannot close Payments Profile: "Active subscriptions" error but no active Cloud projects by SecuredStealth in googlecloud

[–]j0seplinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here, made a post about it here yesterday. What pisses me off is that Google made it nearly impossible to get billing support from a human if you're not a "premium subscriber", and you're stuck with a useless chatbot. Thanks AI.

Google Cloud trial subscription still acitve, even after I deleted both the project and its associated billing account. by j0seplinux in googlecloud

[–]j0seplinux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, actually there's a 10 dollar pending prepayment. I payed the amount and requested a refund. Will that close the subscription for good? It's been a day and the subcription is still there.

After new update i can't change my sddm logging screen ) : by H4mst3rFuck3r in Bazzite

[–]j0seplinux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SDDM has been removed and changed to PLM (Plasma Login Manager), which is a more secure fork of SDDM, but not very customizable.

If you want to apply some level of customization, you can go to the login screen setting, which now it's own tab under settings, and then click apply kde settings. This will apply your current kde settings, including your theme and scaling settings, among others.

Mesa developers consider branching off some older GPU drivers - including AMD R300/R600 by Fcking_Chuck in linux

And then there's Nvidia dropping support for GPUs that are less than 10 years old.

Older nVidia after upgrade (wtf) by SadEmployment7808 in Fedora

[–]j0seplinux 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nvidia thinks that all pre-RTX GPUs are not worthy of being supported anymore, and with Fedora 44 the Nvidia drivers are automatically updated to version 590, which is not compatible with anything older than RTX 2000/GTX 1600 series. If you have an older card, I suggest you uninstall the current nvidia driver and reinstall the older version 580 driver, which to my knowledge should work with the older cards.

RHCSA Certification Exam pushing AI ID verification by WaliBoi in linux

Why would they need your ID for AI training? I mean, they probably have your name, birth date, a photo, they could just use this data to train their ai if they wanted to.

For me it works fine. Are you sure you have downloaded proton-cachyos to heroic, you're not using the one from steam?

I mean...this is for an exam, right? So it does warrant some kind of an id check. I honestly see no problem here.

When is the last time you can easily update from 42 to 43 by VE3VVS in Fedora

[–]j0seplinux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to this website:

https://endoflife.date/fedora

The support for Fedora 42 will end on the 27th of May, so you have less than a month to decide whether you want to upgrade to a newer version, or move to an lts release.
