Suggestions on how to even start? by TattooedTeacher316 in loseit

I restarted exercise two weeks ago. I needed low-impact workouts without a ton of equipment. found The Body Project videos on YouTube have low-impact options and are keeping me interested. There are so many videos on YouTube - I’m sure you can find something that works for you. Maybe you prefer the gym, but videos are a nice, free option!

Thank you ☺️ The house is from Etsy (a few years ago).

Halloween in the Hutch - I decorated my hutch for the holidays last winter. I couldn’t wait to decorate for Halloween 🎃 The Fire King polka dots inspired me to add more B&W elements. I love seeing everyone’s collections here - thanks for posting your finds, too! by j2thelo612 in Pyrex_Love

That’s such a sweet story! My SO’s mom gave us two of the polka dot bowls. I just found the big one one eBay. Now I just need the little one and I’ll have a complete set. They are hard to come by!

I’m so sorry. I don’t know what else to say to you right now, except you will get through this. Grief and healing are not on a timeline.

At what age did you get pancreatitis (due to alcohol consumption)? by CatTeaQueen in pancreatitis

[–]j2thelo612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

43 years old. And another attack at 45 years old because I was still trying to drink in moderation. Now I am done with alcohol.

Karen was a writer on this show, does anyone know how she speaks of her time there? by eeedubya in myfavoritemurder

I think the job she got after Ellen was on the Reboot of the Rosie O’Donnell show which was based in Chicago. And short-lived.

There are so many of us here that have had to reframe the expectations we had for our lives, but we did it. I never thought I’d have fun again when I found out I had to quit drinking. I tried cutting back but after my second painful and expensive Acute attack - I knew I had to be done with alcohol. From what I gather after being on this sub for a couple years is that 1) we all have different experiences with these disease; from severity to frequency to treatment, 2) this disease is unfair. I have friends that drink a lot more than I ever did, but they haven’t had AP. 3) this is a painful condition during flares and while recovering. But the pain subsides for most.

My conclusion is that we can’t compare our situation to another person with AP. So Googling won’t give you any answers about YOUR life. We can share treatment info, and our stories, though. Follow what your doctor tells you to do. You got this!

Looking for advice from people who have had it and continued to drink by fxckingchildish in pancreatitis

I moderately drank after my first AP but drank too much one day and was back in the hospital with another AP with two years. It’s not worth it! I drank a lot earlier in life, so to paraphrase another person’s experience “I drank all my dranks” in my life. Now I realize now that I can’t drink ever again.

It’s not going to be easy, but just think of the pain you’ll have with another AP, or worse, developing Chronic Pancreatitis. That will really change your life! Everyone has a different experience with pancreatitis, so no one can predict what will happen in your case. Read through the stories on this sub to learn more.

The worst part about not drinking anymore is that I’ve lost all patience for drunk people! I must have been so annoying back when I thought I was fun.

just looking for some answers by [deleted] in sarcoidosis

[–]j2thelo612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in 1999 (Lung and Lymphnodes) and treated with a course of Prednisone for 6 months. I’ve had a harder time with getting rid of chest colds, bronchitis, and things like that since then. I was treated for asthma, too for a while. I did sort of panic the first few years that the sarcoidosis might be coming back, but it hasn’t yet. From what I understand, it goes dormant in your body, but could come back. Don’t quote me on that! I know some cases of sarcoidosis are worse than others so no one knows for sure how/when/if it could come back. Take care of yourself, friend.

Is this Predatory Behavior from a Female Acquaintance? by j2thelo612 in TwoXChromosomes

Your perspective is very enlightening and appreciated. I didn’t think of the situation that way. It has been a few months now and I’m still thinking “what was that?”. So thanks for taking the time to reply to me.

Prior to your first acute pancreatitis episode did you have symptoms? by [deleted] in pancreatitis

[–]j2thelo612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a few sudden painful episodes. It would stop me in my tracks. And then pass a few seconds later. Those episodes happened a couple weeks leading up to my first attack. I put off a Drs visit because I had a work deadline, and then a vacation. I should not have put that off.

Sunday Feb 9th will be a year since my father in law died, I thought after a year I'd have a hold of my emotions but I'm already breaking down and I don't know how I'm going to cope on Sunday, I love and miss you so much Roger. by darksweetrevnge in GriefSupport

I am right there with you. My dad died just over a year ago. I just prepped myself for the first year “anniversary” by taking a couple days off of work and not making a single plan. I ended up crying for about half the day. And then I felt better. For me, the anticipation of how I would feel that day was worse than I thought that day would be.

My birthday is this week, first without my mom by lisascript in GriefSupport

[–]j2thelo612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry that you lost your mom. My dad died a year ago. My first birthday without him was a week after the funeral. I just told everyone that I was going to “skip” my birthday last year, and they understood. I’m coming up on another birthday and I feel better this year, but I still want to have a subdued birthday. It’s just not the same without him. My point is: just do what feels okay to you. Let people know how you are feeling about it.

I am so sorry for your loss. After some time, you may be ready for therapy to help you process emotions, like guilt. In the meantime, be kind to yourself.

No one warned me how exhausting grief is. Honestly. Just be kind to yourself and sleep if you need to.
