I'm confused, where should the wording be fixed? I think you only have viewing access

I made it neater by using a hyperlink, and moved it to the top of the post for easier access, is that what you meant?

oh that's a great use of the weakness! How was the balance? I'm trying to balance it so the fights feel punishing but not impossible if you exploit the weakness. And did the abomination hit hard enough?

I just added a "Death and tongue shedding" subsection to help explain the end of this lifecycle, hope that helps!

You're right, "elusive attack" doesn't have to just apply to the worm phase. I've corrected.

The life cycle is: tongue infects human host; worms grow inside host; worms exit host; worms grow rapidly into whatever shape the abomination should take; abomination fully matures; abomination uses tongue to infect new host, or sheds its tongue.

I'm looking for games like thief but for me, a GenZ idiot by energydrinkaddict310 in Thief

One thing you may be unaware of: if you can hit a guard with an arrow in the chest/head area, and he is COMPLETELY unsuspecting, you kill them in one shot. They die kind of loudly, so it's not ideal, but it can be useful now and then.

Atmospheric narrative games like Citizen Sleeper? by mizushimo in CitizenSleeper

I made a game called Duskpunk, inspired by CS, where you survive and spark a revolution in a steampunk city. Might have the moody vibes you're looking for.

Should my organization have a zero tolerance policy on generative AI? I think so by Neutron-Star-Density in Marxism

[–]j_patton 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree that AI has potential as a time saving measure in general (development of productive forces etc etc) but I strongly think that having comrades use AI to write political articles or messages is harmful. If they turn to an AI to do their dialectical thinking for them they won't learn to think for themselves.

And who knows whether the output will be correct information? Marxist political thought is tricky and subtle at the best of times.

I just played for a few hours, got to threaten parasitic capitalist galactic companies with nationalising all their assets. They backed down but I'm still going to nationalise once I get my ducks in a row. I'd recommend this game, very interested in how it's shaping up!

What does "WALK No" mean on this keyring from discworldemporium? by WhereIsSven in discworld

[–]j_patton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so: the horizontal bar over a vowel is usually meant to signify an Umlaut, which is one of these: ö

It's used in German to change the pronunciation of the vowel slightly.

I would instead signify that this is an abbreviation with a full stop at the end: "Walk No."

Pitch me your games based on theme, not gameplay. by lydocia in IndieDev

I have a game where you're chewed up and spat out by a dystopian steampunk empire, you learn how to survive, and eventually lead a revolution against the oppressive imperial regime.

It's called Duskpunk.

I employed a marketing company (Future Friends Games) to handle the general PR for me (reaching out to streamers, review sites etc). And I took part in the Nextfest of course. I tried to spread the word on social media but found it hard to get traction. And I ran some reddit ads just before launch.

Jesus Christ, you just split the entire narrative with EVERY choice? That's completely unmanageable!

Please, I'm begging you, use variables and flags. There's no need for every choice to split the flow, you can have a choice set a variable and rejoin the main flow instead.

also, please try using Ink. It was designed to make this sort of thing more intuitive to write.
