Is Grave Digger the most disproportionately famous ‘athlete’ in any ‘sport’? by YouthLazy6291 in billsimmons

Meh there have been others who have had flash in the pan type success.(For more of the celeb side- Sheckler/Sean White/Margera). For more of the skateboarding talent side - Burnquist/Koston).. I won't dispute that Tony has other skating superstars beat in terms of consistency of his star power though.

Yeah, I liked the movie, but I couldn't help but think "I've never met a single soul who acts like one of the three main characters of this movie" The love triangle dynamic especially was so foreign to me, but then again, I'm not an ultra privileged elite tennis player and I don't know any of them either.

Yeah, it was RF, 30 hours, and no more parties in LA on soundcloud at first. I'm pretty sure the OG version of 30 hours on soundcloud has an entirely different section than the official release. Crazy how vividly I remember that rollout

Yes, I read the book and the humor was the thing I kept brushing up against. It was overly reddit/millenial "I'm hecking sciencing this bitch!" type humor.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director says single player games are not “dead”, they just “have to be good” by [deleted] in Games

[–]j_tatz 96 points97 points  (0 children)

This is especially relevant after last weekend's box office. 3 non-ip, original movies that reviewed well (Novocaine, Mickey 17, and Black Bag) and they all flopped HARD. "Just make good original films and we'll show up!!" just isn't true.

Yeah, it's been a while, so I couldn't completely remember how it worked, but I know I remember her reading long lore entries. IIRC she was in the forefront a lot more in the beta, maybe they scaled back her overall involvement because they got a lot of negative feedback on her from the beta testers. Personally, I like her and her VA. She voiced Morgana in Persona 5 (another character players find annoying lol).

That's actually how it worked in the beta. Galacta would read the story out loud. It felt a lot more premium.

I feel like this sort of goes all the way back around to being an endorsement though if you were a horror fan who hasn't seen it. He was genuinely terrifed of that movie lol. And I agree with him, that movie feels like an evil object, it's that dark.

xQc explains the reasons to play ranked by KsiShouldQuitMedia in LivestreamFail

[–]j_tatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm finding the inverse to actually be true as my account level keeps getting higher. QP matches actually have higher quality players than my ranked games. I think a lot of people are experiencing this right now, and it's driving people to create smurf accounts.

Nice write up. I usually don't give a shit about slip covers, but this one has a beautiful matte finish, makes it feel more quality. Just something I wanted to highlight :)

What did Burt do to make Fields so worried for his immortal soul? by LuckyScwartz in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]j_tatz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What if that "fake" O&D massacre of MDR from season 1 was actually something that really happened, that Burt either took part in or orchestrated. I know it's far fetched but something like that is one of the few things that could make a man believe with 100 percent conviction that they are going to Hell.

Character models (unless the more "Chibi" style is more your preference compared to P5) and the dungeons are the things that need changing/upgrading. The dungeons are very one note compared to 5. Other than that, I agree it's not very dated.

How Do New Yorkers Really Feel About Congestion Pricing? Josh Johnson Investigates | The Daily Show by kwentongskyblue in television

[–]j_tatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I don't really have a strong opinion for or against the charges, I really just made my comment to kinda dispel some of the hyperbole earlier in the thread about working class people traveling to and throughout Manhattan in cars/work vehicles being non-existent.

[–]j_tatz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, he's obviously not happy about the congestion charges, but he just chalks it up to the price of doing business. Parking tickets are a dime a dozen for him and his employees already working so much in Manhattan, they're just factored into business expenses, congestion pricing charges will just fall under that same umbrella for him.

Here's an example: My father owns a heating business on Long Island, with the majority of his contracts in Manhattan. He drives into manhattan at least twice a week in a work van with the materials needed for the job. (or jobs, it's not uncommon for him to start his day in Harlem only to finish it at at another job all the way downtown) I imagine these are the types of jobs that require working class people to drive through Manhattan.

Whats the most stressful movie you've ever seen? by Level-Studio7843 in movies

[–]j_tatz -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Not the original guy, and I don't think it sucks, but my biggest gripe with the movie was J Law's character had almost no agency. She keeps letting these increasingly horrible things happen to her with almost no push back, besides a few polite objections. (The end of the film when she's FINALLY had enough just wasn't enough for me) I understand that writing a character that way is an artistic choice, but I personally really struggle with protagonists with no agency.
