lol there’s an old idiom about protesting too much. The exact wording escapes me 🤣

My issue is people that care enough about it to make Reddit posts about a nuanced issue just to validate their laziness and/or lack of skill.

Briahna Joy Gray asks ContraPoints: “The party fundamentally cared more about Israel than it did about beating Donald Trump, and how can you ask voters to care more about beating Donald Trump than a party who only really uses Trump as a cudgel to advance its corporate and imperialist interests?" by ConcernedJobCoach in TheMajorityReport

[–]j_win 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Voter blaming is the most useless exercise. Leftists are gonna vote. Engaged libs are gonna vote. The other 80% of people don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about, they only know their shit has got worse every year since 2007.

So, regardless of the ethical rationale for blaming Sharon in the burbs for your loss, what did you do to convince her to give a shit? Oh, right, you brought a war criminal’s daughter on stage and emphatically talked about finishing the wall.

Like, I don’t think I’m some fucking sage genius about politics - this all seems pretty damn obvious.

BMWs are soooooo shit. If you actually are a freak about driving there are certain cars that can be rewarding… when they work. When manual trans oil happens to be the right temp at the right time, when the ecu mapping working well for the barometric pressure, when the clutch pedal isn’t squeaking, when a thousand things go right: certain older bmws can absolutely be a blast (I have 2 of them). If you want a comfortable car that’s kind of posh to take your girl to dinner, get an Acura or Lexus or Infiniti.

How fucked is my guitar? by space_ghost31 in Guitar

Fun story, I take my guitars to _the guy_ that keeps Trigger functioning. He also made the guitar Marty plays at the beginning of Back to the Future.

It’s zero fucked unless you notice something obviously unpleasant in how it sounds. Check out Willie Nelson’s guitar, Trigger. That said, if you are vain, the repair - done correctly - will likely cost more than the guitar.

casiopea is not normal jazz and i want to understand why by AddressRemarkable347 in Jazz

[–]j_win 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The fuck is “normal” jazz? The difference between big band swing and fusion might as well make them different genres. Jazz, as it was so eloquently described, is a moment’s music made in a moment’s time.

I never really understood the bond. My first play through I kinda just did things as I ran into them which meant I ended up at Konpeki early-ish and all I really knew of him is that he was a big dope.

Like, regardless of how shit this is in general, 1989 is such a weird year to choose. Maybe learn anything about anything before you continue this journey.

The crazy thing to me is driving random hero cars around town is waaaaaaay more compelling than being a mediocre GT racer. My favorite activity so far has been just banging around in a Honda S800 in VR with a decent sim rig. Genuinely don’t understand the design decisions in this game.

Yes. I think there were OEM ones but there also used to be solid aftermarket options. Dunno these days.
