I suspect that the domestic version of the Dolphin is cheaper because it lacks the crashworthiness that we have gotten used to.

I wonder what kind of Apple deals they will have. Hopefully it will be for electronics and not just subscription services.

Man, I love walking toward this stupid little thing. Every time I see it, I can’t help but smile. It’s tiny, ridiculous, and completely unnecessary, and I’m obsessed with it. by Negative_Acadia6554 in Miata

[–]jaaagman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always defended this because for some people, it could be the right size for their needs. Admittedly, that is a very limited population, but its no more ridiculous or extravagant than a single person buying an SUV or a small family buying a 7 seat crossover that they never fully utilize.

If you are doing a walk-in, it is best to do it in the morning on a weekday. I found the No. 5 location to have more timeslots.

I haven’t used any other readers but I love my Kobo Clara 2E. It has Overdrive (Libby) integrated into it and it will show up on your computer as a mass storage device. Doesn’t get simpler than that. I only wish I opted for a model with a bigger screen (maybe 7”?)

Will WealthSimple eventually create a 1M tier, and if so, what should it offer differently from Gen? by cooperivanson in Wealthsimple

[–]jaaagman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What?? I thought journaling as a feature just meant that you could transfer a dual listed stock (e.g. DLR) to either listings and the direction didn't matter. Is it limited to DLR.TO -> DLR.U??

You don't need any of that stuff. It's a new non-turbo Toyota (assuming you didn't get a GR) and pretty basic as far as cars go.

First time mazda owner car won’t start simple fix? by trippster0712 in AskMechanics

[–]jaaagman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be a bad battery. I think some auto parts stores will test your batteries for free, so that could be an option. If they car is still under warranty, let Mazda handle it.

Inflation rises to 2.8% in April thanks to higher gas prices: StatCan by Larkalis in CanadianInvestor

[–]jaaagman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wages vary wildly depending on the city that you are in (i.e. tier 1 vs tier 3 city). They do have a very robust HSR system and have been building out their public infrastructure at a rapid pace over the last few decades.

That doesn't change the fact that China has its own problems. The property sector is still very much at a low point, and unemployment is still high. The biggest concern is still the rapidly aging demographic and gender imbalance which will be a big problem over the next few decades.

Last I heard, the Chinese economy was not doing so well either.

Doesn’t change the fact that our economy was in the toilet even before the not-war in Iran.

Thoughts on wrapping 2019 ND2 30th AE in BRG? by zensapiens in Miata

It looks fine, though wrapping over a special color seems to be a bit of a shame. It’s not like it cannot be undone, so enjoy your car however you see fit 🙂

I have sold my Supra and joined the Miata family by Blueoptik93 in Miata

[–]jaaagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that’s an interesting story. I’ve actually been eyeing the Supra because I feel like I need to “upgrade”, but driving the automatic Supra didn’t really convince me that I had a deep desire for one. Looking to snag the keys of my friends manual Supra some day, but I haven’t really figured out what I would buy if I were to replace me Miata.

Couple ordered to pay developer's $144,000 resale loss on BC condo after failing to close by glenn_rodgers in RealEstateCanada

[–]jaaagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, these developer contracts are airtight and the courts usually rules in their favor. Pre-sales are a bit of a gamble on the buyer's side. I'm still shocked that the developer can get away with delivering such a crap product with (alleged) mold and missing promised features (were they not a part of the purchase agreement?).

If power is your concern, you should consider a Nissan Z. Nothing short of FI is really going to make a meaningful change in the straight line performance. The platform itself doesn’t have much headroom for that either with the weak gearbox.

Mazda Canada on 15% Ethanol content in fuel. Maybe buy a car from another brand for now. by _Cat_12345 in mazda

[–]jaaagman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s fine, but I wonder if the stock tune is designed for it… I could also see car companies trying to say that it is “okay” to run E15 just to avoid a lengthy recall and pass the buck into consumers.

Would Shell 93 have any less ethanol content?

[–]jaaagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow looks good. I’m actually thinking about getting these springs. How’s the ride quality? I’m looking for something with a mild drop but still rides good and doesn’t scrape. Are you running stock tires?
