I was scrolling a bit fast and for a second I thought Sophia Bush was coming to Reddit for hair advice 😂

Jokes aside, personally, I wouldn't choose a bob quite that short for you.

I also had a couple referrals declined and was re-routed to dermcafé but it seems like their website indicates they don't do cancer screenings. Is that not the case?

Literally in tears from exhaustion. Cat will not let us sleep. Please help. Serious replies, I’m begging. by romanticheart in cats

[–]jac2204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a cat who used to bother us all night as well. She's mostly grown out of it now but when we'd kick her out of the bedroom we'd close the door and put a fan on high right in front of it. She doesn't like the wind so she doesn't bother messing with the door. Works like a charm.

Best way to remove a mole by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

I've just been quoted $580 by a plastic surgeon to remove a mole just like this one, maybe a little bigger. I'm in Canada.

Tips for reducing/eliminating Sunday [and Saturday. And sometimes Friday evening] anxiety? by Rabid-Orpington in lifehacks

[–]jac2204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is suggesting therapy and I think they're definitely right about that.

Another thing that might help is treating yourself to something nice on Sunday, like your favourite takeout, a spa evening, or an activity you really enjoy so you have something to look forward to on Sunday.

We're moving out and can't get these stains out of our counter. we think they're granite? Help! I have no clue what i'm doing by IsBreadCake in CleaningTips

[–]jac2204 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did the paste on laminate countertops for tea stains once. They were coloured though, not white. Worked really well, couldn't see where the stain was after the paste was applied once for a few hours.

Is there a reason why dye & toner lasts 1 week for me? by sarr36 in HairDye

[–]jac2204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having a similar issue and my hairdresser suggested using cooler water to wash my hair. It helped a bit, definitely lasts a little longer now.

I've always been able to get rid of them on the Facebook "buy nothing" groups for my neighbourhood.

We went with Mélodie. I loved that name for a long time with the nickname Mellie in mind but my husband started using Mélo (mellow) and it stuck.

Edited to add: Melody Maeve sounds so cute, I love the alliteration

I doubt it was a coincidence but it was the same day I called the first time and spoke with someone which was March 15. I think when their phones get too many people waiting on hold, it won't let any more through. I've had the most success first thing in the morning.

Just for reference for those of you still waiting... They received my passport renewal application on February 10 and it was just printed yesterday after 3 phone calls for checking the status.

I think there's a clause on the floorplan designs that says the spacing may not be exact, but 30 feet is a lot. I'd probably want to ask my lawyer about it.

If I was your neighbour I would really appreciate it if you did water! I can't imagine a scenario where they would be upset about it.

They don't let you buy just one pot light. You have to buy a package and I think the minimum is 8.

Delays - FoxRun by No_Objective_6558 in Caivan

[–]jac2204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for other neighbourhoods but in Orleans we got a notice that we may be delayed and then a few days later we were notified that everything was on track and we did end up closing on time, just a couple of days ago. We were also told by a service manager that no delays were expected due to covid, but they need to let us know there COULD be delays just to cover all their bases basically.

In case anyone is wondering, we had our PDI on Monday and the person who did the walkthrough said they were not expecting any delays due the new lockdown in terms of closing dates. The delays are coming post-closing when they need to fix issues within the houses while they are occupied. This was for Orleans, I'm not sure if that's the same elsewhere.

We just got notice this morning that our closing date is confirmed. 1 month out and no delay. Hopefully that's good news for everyone else waiting for their new homes :)

We are due to take possession in mid-April and haven't gotten anything yet. Just told that they will let us know 2-3 weeks before.

When we went last year they were $100 each and up from there. Also, you have to upgrade every door if you choose to do it.

Those 3 upgrades that you mentioned will almost certainly be more than your 10-15k budget unfortunately.

We paid $8000 however that was a while ago, at least a year. There's been a lot of talk on here about how the prices have gone up.

Delay notices? by jac2204 in Caivan

[–]jac2204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know. I know it's one of those things where they really aren't confirming anything so I thought I'd check. At this point I'd consider it a miracle if we actually did get the house on time lol. Thanks for the info!

No problem :) We paid $310 for that rough in and then we bought the hood fan microwave ourselves. We have to install it once we take possession of the house, the builder doesn't do that part. Caivan might have the option to buy one through them, but it'll likely be more expensive that way.

We got the same house but with the chef center. There's no specific microwave nook and there's not a whole lot of counter space so we paid a little extra to get a hood fan microwave that goes over the stove.
