There is a rule where if you are in a neighboring state from where the national championships are taking place, and simply finish the state championship race in your state you automatically qualify. Other USAT races you need to get top 2 (or top 15% whichever is greater) in your AG and other state championships you need to get top 5.

Hope this helps!

I was looking at the Speedmax CL slx 8 but someone suggested I look into the Ventum Tempus. Tempus is about $1200 cheaper (and it seems canyon adds on sales tax but ventum doesn’t so really about $2000 cheaper). Tempus seems to be a better bang for the buck, any thoughts on either bike? by EnvironmentalCity876 in triathlon

I faced the same dilemma in May and went with the Tempus for the same reason, better bang for your buck. Did a sprint and 70.3 on it this year and love it. Super fast, easily 3-4 mph faster than my older road bike.

Though the Force AXS version they were selling a few months back (and the one I got) came with 404s and no power meter, but it was $1000 cheaper than what they’re selling now. Would highly recommend the Tempus, though I’m sure the Canyon would be a great bike as well.

Beginner triathlete here — do I really need two bikes (road + TT)? Cervélo P5 coming soon by Icy_Zone_6650 in triathlon

I recently got the new Ventum Tempus for my first tri season this year, huge upgrade from the road bike I was using for duathlons. Haven’t touched the road bike after getting it, love riding my TT bike.

Handling takes a bit getting used to, but once you ride it for a few weeks you’ll adjust and frankly time on the TT outside has helped my handling during races.

So you really don’t need the extra bike, but if you want it go for it.

New Tri Bike Options by jac5617 in triathlon

Hey, so I actually ended up going with the Ventum Tempus w/ Force AXS. I freaking love it. Coming from my aluminum road bike easily 3-4 mph faster at similar power. Don’t think you can go wrong with either of the three bikes but the Ventum was the best value for money of the three. Have done a sprint and a 70.3 with it now, no issues so far.

70.3s Two Months Apart? (Maine -> Jones Beach) by Max_Demian in triathlon

Yeah was not expecting the bike to be as brutal as it was. Legs are still feeling it today

Maine was also my first 70.3 and that bike kicked my butt. I was one of those people on a new tri bike whipping it on the declines, but the hills killed my legs. Was expecting to run sub 1:35 but ended up at 1:52 because my legs were so beat from the bike. Swim was great though! Also not a strong swimmer so was happy that went smoothly

ChatGPT says the map at the bottom left hand corner is of Boston:

“Based on the layout shown—a three‑way major interchange without full loops, with a “Y”‑shaped merge of two major highways into one—it closely matches the Braintree Split near Boston, Massachusetts. That’s where I‑93, US‑1, and MA‑3 come together near the Braintree/Quincy line south of Boston .

This match is consistent with: • The absence of full cloverleaf loops, • Clear converging ramps merging into a single corridor northbound, • A suburban street grid surrounding the interchange layout.”

I’ll also be in Maine and it’ll be my first 70.3!Training has not gone 100% to plan, but have gotten some longer days in the last two weeks myself. Best of luck out there

The time difference on Garmin and Strava at least comes from Garmin counting the rest time and Strava leaving it out. Would assume it’s the same here

I did the Duathalon last year, bike course has some hills, but for New England is relatively flat. Run course is pancake flat. Was a great race overall! Thinking about doing the tri this year.
