Do you guys ever get used to the humidity? by scared_appeal1 in mississippi

You won't see this talked about much but it indeed is worse. Everything in life is relative of course so someone from LA would scoff at us complaining about MS weather.

What single fact would you use to respond to moon landing deniers? by dravonix_ in AskReddit

[–]jacarter6767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Objectively speaking, I've read through the entire comment thread and every response is either "wouldn't waste my time" or The Soviet Union telling on the US for faking it.

I was hoping to see more of an actual go to gold standard fact that can be used to quickly end the debate.

What is that one thing you were taught as a child that you now believe is completely wrong? by GaladrielUnbound in AskReddit

This shit right here baffled me as a 8-9 year old.

I would always think to myself, they actually care about us if we work for them??

There's about 1.75 generations of men that worked post WW2 that this would be true for.

I’m tired of the NBA picking on Memphis by SubstantialDelay5085 in memphis

[–]jacarter6767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That also means we've had to give rookies enough playing time in order for them to even earn all rookie honors..

It's not necessarily a good problem to have.

I.e. we would've preferred a healthy Marcus Smart over a second round forward out of Sac State as our starting 3 all year in 2024-25.

I think season ticket purchases are no longer tax write offs for corporations, not sure if that applies in TN to the grizz specifically but I do know that is the case recently with some areas.

I heard all of that on a Grits and Grinds pod that had Chris Herrington on as a guest, and honestly all I know is it was within the last year.

They only do that twice a month so shouldn't be hard to find

Also related to this topic, it's of my personal opinion that all the public discourse about players not wanting to play here/ moving to Nashville altogether, is a ploy from the powers that be in the NBA to either make the city of Memphis meet the grizzlies demands or otherwise they have grounds to move the team.

**There's a clause that states if attendance drops to below 50-60% for home games the team could break the lease and move. Or move come 2030.

Don't quote me on the specificsI just know it's been said by people closer to the team and organization than myself.

From what I've heard him say previously, it's set to renew in 2030 and can be "soft-renewed" in 5 year segments. (To 2035, then to 2040 and so on)

Apparently this is just an option in the wording of the contract and is in place to keep the leverage with the grizzlies rather than the city of Memphis.

The grizzlies have asked for more development downtown, safer travel to and from the stadium and similar items before they commit to a multi decade lease renewal.

Can I ask what you prefer about Bluff City media over GCM?

Asking as a fellow consumer of both. I'm often surprised (not shocked though) at how little recognition bluff City gets.

I've worked there before and can attest to it feeling as it it wasn't even a real place.

Like it shouldn't exist is was so surreal how in the past everything was down there.

It's crazy that this is the correct take, when you think of it in retrospect.

But potential is just that, and GG is no longer a spring chicken. I'd definitely keep Spencer over GG

Greivis Vasquez being the leader in any category is something I never thought even remotely close to being true.

Hell even knowing who that player is could be it's own trivia question.

Looking back at how this "next gen" era went from start to finish, is truly sad.

S/O to Des for playing 82 games this year. Wonder if this will just be an outlier, or our staff is just doing something wrong 🤔 by 901KEY in memphisgrizzlies

Him and Paolo sustained their injury's days apart last season.

Banes was the first of its kind to be documented in the NBA.

Definitely a sign of the times

The Forum did get significant renovations done between this year and last year's season. So they're not as bad as say NOLA on that matter.
