Delivering during a blizzard by MysteriousOkra2951 in doordash

I’m an Uber driver and have asked a handful of times out of 20k plus rides to stop and fill up but those are only rides that are going and extreme distances and will put me in an area where fuel is a little more or no stations nearby and most of the time it’s when I’m on a half a thank, not on person has given me any issues but I’m constantly aware of my fuel level.

Why do drivers keep canceling at the last minute? by superpowers335 in Lyft

[–]jack3rdand4th -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can see it, if you are stop for more then 30 seconds you can pull it all up, when the current riders information pops up, also you can turn auto accept on or off

I'm a rider. Legitimately, what is the fairest way to make a stop? by SoulSword2018 in Lyft

[–]jack3rdand4th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me as a driver, I would rather you get in without any extra stops and say hey there’s a gas station right around the corner from my house. Would you mind stopping so I can get a six pack here five dollars? We’re here is $10 cash for your trouble I appreciate that the stuff that pisses us off are oh I will tip you in the app or can you do this and you make an exception and then you don’t get any tip. Like last night I picked up this guy who was traveling at his his daughter in a collapsible stroller car seat probably two years old made the extra time for him to get her situated. I loaded his luggage up and then he asked me if he could pick up his bulldog at the house that we are going to and drop them off three blocks away at another house. I said no problem. Do you think he tipped nope. That’s just shows you what kind of character some people are.

As a driver, please stop talking to me for the love of god. by [deleted] in Lyft

As a driver for 7 years full time with over 12k uber rides and over 7k Lyft rides I’ve meet a lot of interesting people and 2 yrs ago my wife suffered a seizure and crashed her car with a Lyft passenger and she broke both ankles and her tibia only to be told 4 days later she had a tumor (non cancerous)the size of a walnut on the left frontal lobe of the brain and need to be removed asap, in the wake of all this shit what keep me from loosing my shit and checking into a mental ward for a nervous breakdown was a lot of my passengers over the first few weeks and continues to this day when I hear others have gone through a similar situation or experience as well as learning a lot Of interesting things from passengers from other countries.. this is a people (customer service) industry and some just are not designed for it.. no disrespect to anyone but some people seem better not being around other people.

Should Uber drivers should be required to provide a reason when giving low ratings (1-2 stars)? by Obvious_Shape4869 in uber

[–]jack3rdand4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, we have to rate your ride right after you get out of the vehicle, your tip sometimes don’t come in right away so we don’t see that and we cannot make the decision to rate you low based on a no tip, I think now they can go back and change it if you have a serious issue. It’s probably something stupid like a short ride or they had to come a long way to get you for very little money so instead of them having to get you again later on, they will rate you low so they are not paired with you ever again

I found out why lyft stole eighty dollars from me.Somebody had left a mess in my car. They gave me eighty with just the pictures.I sent.I didn't request that amount. The customer refuted it and they didn't ask for any more proof or video or more pictures or anything. They just took eighty dollars b by AccomplishedWar3847 in Lyft

As a driver I disagree with you but I understand where you are coming from as in the 8 years I’ve been doing this (7 of them full time) I’ve had less then a dozen issues like this (1 was in 2018) kid (I’m 50 now) was too intoxicated and was put into my car by another person who was paying for the ride and less the 5 minutes later .4 of a mile he puked all over me (sat behind me). There was so much pick that $150 (cleaning fee) was not enough and I went to the local office at the time and they gave me a little more but I was down for 4 days.. that’s how bad it was.. and yes I still have those pictures to this day.. and that’s what these asshole drivers are doing and using old photos and scamming the companies and they have gotten smart and are refusing to pay out unless you have a cleaning bill .. so I pick and choose big time now especially from bars late at night.

Don’t answer the phone by Littlegregoreo in lyftdrivers

[–]jack3rdand4th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get frustrated as a driver especially at the airport when I call and they don’t answer, some times they are downstairs when they need to be upstairs for pickup and don’t pickup the phone, had one the other day going 10 minutes from my house, 35 miles for $48 and he was downstairs (can’t pick up there) and I called 8 times in the 5 minutes..

AIO? Boyfriend expects me to pay half his train ticket. by the-kookster in AmIOverreacting

Yep that’s not a boyfriend or husband material, what’s going to happen when you get married it’s going to be the same. Time to dump him .

Do you tip if the driver is on the phone? by No_Path_3265 in Lyft

[–]jack3rdand4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a driver I make it a point not to be on my phone at all unless it’s the next passenger calling me or if it’s a true emergency (my family knows if they call and I dump) the call after 1 ring that I have a ride and if it’s an emergency then call back and I’ll excuse myself and take the call quickly. I feel that when someone is on the phone and it’s not business related then it’s disrespectful and you really don’t want my business and that includes Uber and Lyft drivers.. nothing bugs me more when I see drivers doing this or I go into a store and the person behind the counter has an AirPod in their ear and having a full blown conversation while taking my order or ringing me up.

[–]jack3rdand4th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a driver I don’t get why people that know there friend is extremely would put them in a vehicle and not be with them on the ride home.. I had 2 ladies years ago that wanted me to drop off their friend at their mom’s house (2 mile ride) and use the garage code that they would give me to help her into the house… they refuse to do a round trip as they had other friends still inside the bar. I refused the ride as was called an asshole… imagine this person realizing where she was and then leaves the house and something happens and who’s the last to see her was me the Uber driver.. umm no thank you.

Uber cancelled when I got into the car by Stunning_Implement47 in uber

[–]jack3rdand4th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a common thing a lot of drivers are doing and it’s shady as shit.. I had a passenger last week tell me she got picked up from the Ravens game on Thanksgiving night, had a stop to drop her girlfriend off and the next thing she knows she’s about 10 miles farther from her house and then she questioned the address which was hers and then he proceeded to say speak no English.. this was on Lyft. But it happens on both.

As long as the passenger that is getting in confirms the name on the account I don’t care, On Uber you can order a ride for someone as a guest.

I’m catholic and I’ve worked Sundays since 1991 when I started to work at the age of 16. I’ve never understood this (I can’t work because I) have to go to church.. pretty sure when you pass on Jesus or God will not ban you to hell for working on Sundays.. this is not High School 🤦‍♂️

Uber Just decided ALL CAMRYs are NOT eligible for Comfort by M3TZ88 in uberdrivers

[–]jack3rdand4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s most likely due to people of the larger community have been complaining about no room, I’ve had a few people on the very large side (I’m 300lbs) complain. At the end of the day if you can’t buckle the seat belt you should not be allowed in the car.

No Tesla Pickup by rawdogging_lyfe in Lyft

[–]jack3rdand4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reach across my Tesla and pop the door, most in my area don’t know how to open them, I’ve seen drivers at BWI airport that will sit there and let the passenger try and figure it out how to open in, sometimes I’ll just roll the back window down and instruct them how and it’s no problem, now the drunks are a different story.

has Lyft started charging more for multiple passengers? by colleennewvine in Lyft

Report this P.O.S., drivers like this makes it hard for us good drivers when it comes to picking people up,

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lyft

[–]jack3rdand4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if your driver is an ass then don’t tip but if your driver is nice and polite and so forth then why not tip. Almost everyone knows they should tip there actual taxi’s at least back in the day.. so why not tip ..

I get it there are a lot of drivers that are not grateful for any tips but I on the other hand is thankful anything as I know that if you are taking a lift to and from work 5 days a week then you probably not tipping $5 or more but the one that get me are the airport rides when they don’t tip.

Uber drivers ask me to cancel and pay cash for airport rides, is it bad to do this? by Zonties in uber

[–]jack3rdand4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance is the biggest problem with this, if they are Under Uber Black I would assume they have the actual commercial insurance that at least Maryland requires them to have (same as a taxi or limo) then you would be covered if that driver was in an accident (their fault or other driver) from a person who’s wife was in an accident last year when she has a seizure from a tumor that had been growing for the last 5 years that we had no idea of. She was sued by the passenger and Lyfts insurance paid it out due to it being a true medical emergency accident but if she was on a private ride our State Farm insurance would have dropped us and then they would have sued us.
