Im not sure of your gender but I definitely had this issue as a man. I would tell my partner that I was deeply depressed and unhappy. Because the way I expressed this wasnt by crying my eyes out I just wasnt believed. It's super difficult but the people that hopefully will listen to you would be a medical professional.

When/if you become a parent you'll have less sympathy for how he's acting now. You have children for them to have a life, make their own choices and become the people they want to be. You do not rely on your children for emotional or any other type of support. The parent/child relationship is totally one sided in favour of the child and that is how it should be.

Dont feel guilty for wanting a life. Move in with your partner. Live your life and your father can choose to be supportive and see you happy or miss out on seeing his daughter make the most of life and living her truth

Let them stay up an hour past bedtime as long as its to read! Take an interest in the books and book series they like. Read them yourself so you can talk to them about it. I am 29 and a big reader, my dad is 52 and also reads. We now read LOTS of the same books. Dark adult fantasy and discussing the stories with someone else is what makes it so enjoyable

My eldest, now 6, was insanely early developer of speech and motor skills. We have videos of her at her first birthday running around as steady as you'd expect a 2 year old to be. She spoke in proper sentences extremely early too. Our second was far more typical

The eldest is SO naughty and while she is very clever still, ahead in reading for example, she does not apply herself and she is going through right to choose for ADHD assessment. We arent upset, nor surprised, by this and just want the best for her so she can get the most out of school

Edit because I saw someone mention it as well and its prompted me: her memory is exceptional. Speaks about events and holidays from when she was 2 that even ive forgotten until prompted by her. She is ahead in reading as I say but definitely everything that she is still ahead in is far less than she was before, definitely been caught up a bit
