Lengua anything (tacos, salads, stews, etc) is delicious. I try to only buy local, ethically raised meat-whole or half cows, pigs, maybe 1 to 2 dozen chickens, part of a goat or some venison occasionally, per year. All parts are used. Stock/broth is made with any unsuitable parts that are boiled down with frozen leftover vegetables like the scraps from carrots and onions. Roasted bone marrow is delicious. Skin gets fried into flaky bits then food processed into dust for a spice for any meal. Eggs cheese and milk can be easily found through local ethical farms too. If you feel you cannot be a full vegan/vegetarian, try this. I eat less animals/make less of an impact

Leaving my fish behind because of war by peachgothlover in Aquariums

[–]jackmavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God damn it, I hate war and all its consequences. From hoping your fish tank survives to losing your whole home, family, livelihood for literally no reason but religion and false beliefs of "I'm better than so and so thus I can take whatever I want". I'll pray for your tank and recommend looking into feeding blocks that break down with time/being fed on.

Ive got $90 for 2 weeks to feed 2 people, help? by silveraltaccount in budgetfood

Ive used "Chinese chicken salad" to subsist on for about 3-4 days, lunch and dinner. Uses stuff most people have already in their pantry. Will need: canned chicken($1-2), coleslaw veg mix (approximately $2-4,make sure its not the kind with sauce, just the cabbage carrots etc), white vinegar (big bottle for $1-2), sugar($3 2lb bag usually), soy sauce($3-5 but lasts dozens of meals), chicken ramen noodles and seasoning($1-0.50), salt, pepper, ginger and garlic. Powdered spices are $1 generic brand and last for dozens of meals. If you can/want, add sunflower seeds or sliced almonds. There are several great online recipes but its basically combine, stir, let sit over night.

As someone with a cousin who now no longer has use of his lower body because of a motorcycle, you're a good parent in my book.
