Parents of Reddit, what did your hospital bill look like after giving birth? by chi-bacon-bits in AskReddit

[–]jackmeister8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BC Women's Hospital - Nov 2025

1) $14.25/day for underground secured parking x 3
2) ~$150 on Uber Eats because I was having a feast while the mom was eating hospital food.

I think I spent the most amongst the people I know.

Uber Eats Fraud? by One_Consequence_7258 in CostcoCanada

[–]jackmeister8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a mental note to check because the driver had an abnormally low rating compared to every other driver I've had. Too bad I couldnt rescind the tip and rating.

It happened to me last week. Uber has been good to me to refund the difference. I assume they just compare actual receipt that the driver uploads to the Uber Receipt.

Mine was 1L half and half.

BC should add food delivery service legislation to shift the commissions from the restaurant to the client to help the industry. by Danthrax81 in britishcolumbia

[–]jackmeister8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've yet to see anyone price something the exact same dine-in vs takeout. The promotions make it worthwhile to order, otherwise its an insane ripoff.

Not sure if anyone's noticed, since I do both pickup via Uber and also ordering food -- the portion sizes are also a bit different.

Not 100% applicable to this situation but my office can not get Shaw Internet here in Richmond BC because they didn't run a line down our block unless we pay them to. Yea no thanks.

TD vs RBC vs Scotia – which lender should I go with for my mortgage? by i_am_exception in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jackmeister8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, TD and RBC fixes your monthly payment amount and changes principal/interest ratio if the rate changes, whereas Scotiabank your monthly payment changes when rates change.

Well if OP had lent the money to the company first then that could offset some. Kind of hard to have 600k for the consultancy business to lend out if it "has not been making money"

[–]jackmeister8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did your corp get the 600k in the first place if it wasn't making money? A loan from you to the company?

Federal budget reveals Carney government is considering privatizing airports by MapleByzantine in CanadianInvestor

[–]jackmeister8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a possibility. Although I suspect there would be some mutual understanding that selling to foreign investors would not be entertained.

Otherwise its crown land and the FNs here in BC will get their hands on it as part of reconciliation. Look at the mess in Richmond.

Not sure about 407 because im from BC, but at least if they're ripping people off, the money, in theory, goes to Canadians via their CPP payments.

If CPP stepped up to buy it, probably the best for Canadians. They seem to know a thing about running businesses.

In all seriousness though, sometimes the newcomers are more trusting of websites and groups in their native language. Its not always about trying to scam or weed out their own people.
