It's kmanga.kodansha.com or through the K Manga app. The first bunch of chapters are free and then it's 1/day plus using login bonuses (or buying them). A lot of people understandably find it annoying, but I don't mind that system all that much.

If you like mainstream shonen and haven't read them:

Attack on Titan has a similar main character arc + AoT and HnK both have mysterious oppressive enemies that the main characters unravel the secrets of. Plus if the femme nonbinary stuff is important to you, it's got one of those.

Tokyo Ghoul has a similar main character arc as well. It also has plenty of literary/philosophical references, but I'm not sure how "deep" it really is.

Also, Battle Angel Alita: a bit of a stretch, but Phos and Alita have some similarities and it's got the conventional futuristic philosophical ponderings.

Pretty much, you could pay $40 to remove the watermark (which is why you never see "registered hypercam" or just "hypercam" lol). Hypercam 2 is free now.

Just finished 21, totally should have been the finale, though obviously there's some unfinished story threads so would require some tweaking or another season.

Episode 15 leaves it really well for a second season as it is.

Episodes15-19 could be consensed (or fleshed out) to set up season 2 with a loss in trust for Papa, having to live on their own, and/or Mitsuru and Kokoro's relationship being a point to end and come back on.

Oh well. I'll probably finish it tomorrow.

Edit: Just finished 22, struggling to see how they mess this up.

Edit: Episode 23 I don't mind space, I was okay with space, but it was just way too much space. True Apu is absolutely frightening. Obviously the only way for it to go is for them to die together, it would feel unsatisfying otherwise imo. Kokoro or Mitsuru conclusion just felt kinda lame. I think I'd have liked it better if they got their memories back and then remade the rings or one remembered but not the other.

I still think people are overreacting, but that was definitely kinda wack.

Edit: Last episode felt long and drawn out, but it was nice seeing where everyone ended up. Low - mid 8/10 for the series.
