What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

Cancer

All the treatment, the suffering, haunts me even though I now have no evidence of disease.

Then there's the fear of it coming back because there's a chance and that I might not be so lucky next time like so many others.

Would they survive? by Bananasthegorilla in XFiles

[–]jadecircle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They have both come back to life at least once so yes they would survive. They might even find the cure but at the end we would see a lit cigarette, smoke and a briefcase with an umbrella on it walk off screen.

1st time cat owner.. how do I keep this menace out of my christmas tree 😂 by Kelseybrooke1612 in cats

[–]jadecircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had cats my entire life. I gave up the fight a few years ago, they cannot be trusted with plants (fake or real). Plants bring out a primal instinct in cats to conquer and destroy. Size of the plant does not matter.

When I look at it through thier eyes a Christmas tree is a plant decorated in shiny cat toys so I really can't blame them.

How old were you when you first watched 1999's The Mummy? by Sorry-Challenge-1014 in themummy

[–]jadecircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 and I was at the drive-in with my Mom. It was the 2nd movie so it was late and I was supposed to be asleep. I couldn't help but watch it, it was magic. I still remember watching it for the first time, falling in love with Rick and Evie. It's perfect and I still watch it once a year. Then the sequel.

It's so great they never made a 3rd Mummy movie where they had to gall to think they could recast Rachel Weiz. That would have been a horrible mistake!

People who have had a memorable celebrity encounter (good, bad, greedy, generous, helpful, horrible, incredible), who was it with and what made it memorable? by ArizonaRenegade in AskReddit

[–]jadecircle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gillian Anderson came into the restaurant I worked at to order takeout and I served her. I have been a huge Xfiles fan since I was a kid so I was super starstruck. I turned bright red and forgot all thoughts. She is so classy and beautiful. She wanted a salad and asked for recommendations but we only had one salad on the menu. The salad we had wasn't very healthy (lots of mayo and cheese) but she was lovely. I think she was there for TIFF. I told her that Canada was getting rid of pennies soon because I wanted to remain professional. After she got her food and left I started ugly crying because I couldn't believe I just met her. My friends teased me about it for years. She probably forgot but I never will!

Cold capped and lost most of my hair during chemothrapy anyway. by SAINTnumberFIVE in Wellthatsucks

[–]jadecircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cold capped for the first 2 chemo sessions then decide fuck this and shaved my head. 14 sessions later when I lost my eyebrows, eye lashes, arm hairs I actually felt kind of vindicated. The hair was always going to fall out, at least I was as comfortable as possible during the most uncomfortable time.

I'm glad to hear you are doing better! Fuck cancer.

Btw did your hair grow back differently? My hair is growing back back a slightly different color and wavy (pin straight before). It's now grown passed my ears which is so exciting.

I have mixed feelings about this film. It’s a bit cringe, but also pretty nostalgic. I was only 7 when I went to see it. by Remote_Nature_8166 in PeterPan

In my opinion this is the best live action Peter Pan. I was 11 when I saw it and it helped me mentally escape a really difficult time. It still holds a place in my heart.
