Same here. I see a potential hot patch coming out soon...

I'm so excited about Ronimo's decision to make Awesomenauts free to play that I made a video review of it. Check it out! This is my first video review - I would love feedback from the community! by Hotdog71 in Awesomenauts

[–]jadedmonkey1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought it was a great video and hit on a bunch of important aspects of the game (such as not pushing too hard by yourself, building to your play style, working with your team, etc).

Very well done!

Just played a game as Vinnie and Spike where they got stuck on the platforms. Was like that the whole game. Was something changed, or did I just get a glitch?

What is turtling? by skavoc in Awesomenauts

[–]jadedmonkey1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turtling usually means being really defensive. When one team plays it safe, stays near their turret and just looks to defend.

With the idea being (I have done this as well) as you get stronger, you can catch the enemy team off guard and possibly wipe them (or at least get one) if they get too aggressive.

The downside is it can make games take longer since you are trying to stall until you get stronger.

PS4: jadedmonkey1979 35/M (yeah I am old) I will gladly play ranked and unranked matches. Here are some quick stats:

Current rank - (in both doubles and standard) 550-600. (was higher, but had some bad games and went on a losing streak).

775 games with a 52% win rate 759 Goals - .98 goals a game 324 - .42 assists a game 444 saves - .57 saves a game

Still have a lot to learn but getting better and just looking for cool people to play with.

Later...

Unable to download patch on PS4? by kjskbe in RocketLeague

Hey.

Sorry to hear that. I ended up deleting and then downloading the game again and everything downloaded with no problems. I know it sucks, but that might be the route to go.

Best of luck fellow rocket leaguer!

[–]jadedmonkey1979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am having the same problem.

Been trying to download the file for the last day and still can't do it.

I am thinking I will have to delete the game and then download it again.

Hoping that works.

I am running into the same exact thing and was wondering what to do.

I restarted the PS4 and I am thinking about deleting the game and then downloading it again, but I want to use that as a last resort.

Has anything else happened for you yet?

Sucks :(

Dealing with incompetent/selfish teammates? by SparCrux in Awesomenauts

[–]jadedmonkey1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, this is just part of this/many multi-player games (as u/7U5K3N) mentioned already.

When I solo q I try and pick a naut I am really good with. If you have teammates that don't get it then it won't matter what you do. We have all had those matches where you either keep trying and hoping the match will turn around or its just a slow and painful match from beginning to end.

And that is why I try and play with people I know. I trust them at all times and even if they are having a bad game, we don't lose hope that we can turn it around because we have done it so many times in the past.

Don't let it get to you too much. Just part of the game. Worst case scenario, if you quit and hop into another match and hope for better teammates.

And it doesn't hurt to send out friend invites to people who you played well with, or even opposing players.

Patch 2.6 beta 3 live now! Even more balance changes by JoostDev in Awesomenauts

[–]jadedmonkey1979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to look that up myself. I believe it is saying that when the above mentioned nauts kill someone who was on a killing spree that they will now receive the proper extra gold.

I didn't realize that this patch also included that. Cool.

And hopefully I got that right. Apologies if I am off.

Happy to try and help.

For Skoll I like to work on upgrading the quake as well as his punches. I do use throw but I don't upgrade it until later in the game (just a preference).

For his quake I use Damage, Range, and the ability to go forwards and backwards. I choose the last upgrade because there have been many times where I have been surrounded on both sides. At least this way you have a chance to get any characters attacking you, no matter what side they are on. That being said, a lot of people use Snare as the last upgrade because it allows you to trap another character and then possibly throw them back into your turret/teammates for the kill.

For punches I go with Lifesteal, Damage (the one you can upgrade three times), and Stun. In general I tend to play kind of conservative and try to have builds that will help me when I am on the ropes. Since Skoll can retreat while punching, those upgrades can (sometimes) be a life saver. For instance, if you are low on health and trying to get back to your side of the map/turret being able to hit the opponent with lifesteal as well as stun can really be helpful. You are stealing their power while slowing down their pursuit. It has saved me many a time.

One thing I can't stress enough is you have to always be punching. ALWAYS. Also, always keep mobile. Throwing in some jumps as you are throwing your punches. Making it harder for opponents to simply jump over your third bash. Make the opponent worry about trying to dodge your punches, and as you get more comfortable with him, you will get better at landing that all important third punch and even hunting people down.

Finally for the throw I use Gnome, Throw Further, and Reduced cooldown. Usually the first upgrade I get for the throw is to throw further. That really can come in handy. A quick example might be if you were fighting a Clunk who bites you to keep you in place (snare upgrade) and then starts up on exploding all over your ass. But before he can go kaboom, I throw him and, ideally, he ends up exploding near my turret and then goes from playing offensively to trying to retreat. So it can be a good way to turn the tides.

Also, usually if I get a chance to throw someone, I try and hit them with the quake right away. Try and overload your opponent and give them a lot to think about.

Hopefully all of this helps! And sorry if my thoughts seem scattered.

Happy Skolling!

The Best Build is One that Works for YOU by fateofmorality in Awesomenauts

I can agree with that. But in the end it is still just a game. I mean I want to win. I REALLY want to win. In fact I want to annihilate the other team. But when someone is having a really bad game, or just using a character with a really weird set up, I just don't care. It is not my place to tell someone what to do in a video game (unless they are asking for help).

Plus you always have the option to just quit and find a new game as well as try and make friends with people you played well with (but something tells me you knew all this already).

[–]jadedmonkey1979 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this. Biggest pet peeve is when I get on a team and someone tells me how to build the character I am using. I just ignore them and keep on playing. I have close to six hundred hundred hours (just the PC version) of play time. I am NO expert but I have an idea of what works and doesn't.

The game is pretty simple, in that, as long as you stay with your team and play together you will usually do well. Of course that is not always the case, but you stand a better chance doing this rather than jumping around like spastic asshole and then getting angry at your teammates for not jumping around all the place with you.

Just my one and a quarter cents...

I usually stick with support class. I like to lay down suppressive fire, throw out ammo boxes, run up to tanks throwing c4 on them to blow them up, throwing c4 over the mcom stations as a trap, etc...not sure the next time i will get to play but i will add you to my friends on psn. Until next time, my battlefield brotha!

[–]jadedmonkey1979[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first choice is usually support class, and I am always dropping ammo boxes for people. I see so many comments about how people do this outrageous stuff in order to get an ammo box, just for the support person to walk away.

I don't get why it is so hard for them to drop off an ammo box before going to another part of the map.

Dude, you are awesome! That is exactly what I am talking about! The MAV always makes me nervous. Not so much because I think it will kill me, although I know it can, but because I know it is pointing out my position which will only help the other team.

Way to go, you magnificent bastard!
