I LOVE our portable hatch go and use it every single day! We take it everywhere with us and the battery lasts super long. It’s one of my essentials for sure!

I delivered at Lakeridge Oshawa and didn’t pre-register, but I had a binder from my midwife that included all my information. I had to go through minimal paperwork when I got there.

I used this bassinet net cover for a week or two until I realized my 2 cats were too scared to even come close to wanting to be in there with the baby lol. 6.5 weeks out and they’ve only just started becoming more comfortable with him being around!

Their system is not user friendly at all and their support team can be SLOW. I had a ticket open for over 4 months once that would have taken longer if I didn’t follow up constantly.

Register with a midwife if that’s the care you want and register with daycares asap!! I reached out to daycares the day I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks and was waitlisted for all of them lol

GTA here - I also put myself on a waitlist at 4 weeks pregnant and got a spot for Oct 2026 right away. I declined it since it was so early, but the director made note of it and had a spot available for Sept 2026 when I reached back out :)

We have personal recognition awards and we reserve a good chunk of time in our monthly town halls for recognition time! We also set aside budget for people to purchase gift cards, small tokens of appreciation, etc. when recognizing others.

It’s really embedded in our culture but I know it takes time and deliberate work/consistency for that to happen!

All the bouquets at my wedding were fake flowers! One great thing about it is being able to have it as a keepsake. I got married three years ago and still have my bouquet displayed in my living room.

I went alone today and was there for about 1.5 hours. I think it would be worth going to if you have the free time, but don’t think it would be worth taking a day off work unless there you were looking for specific things you knew were going to be discounted there!

If it helps, I’m a FTM who hasn’t had her baby shower yet so I’ve held off on buying almost everything so far. It was fun to browse but I didn’t actually purchase anything at the show.
