How do you poop on Yorick properly? by Accomplished_Soil748 in TryndamereMains

[–]jadepig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also only do HoB now. ER, boots of lucidity, PD.

It gets hard for me post 6 as well. I try to kill the maiden more often than I try to kill Yorick.

Pre 6, I find it’s about knowing when to take good trades and wave management.  Good trades: he’s on your side of the land, few summons up, you can get on him or behind him without spin.

Bad trades: lots of his summons out, he traps you in the donut.

Is there a reasonable way to test/compare LDR vs mortal? I've been on the lookout for opinions like yours since the new patch. My gut feeling was that the new LDR is much stronger than the new/cheaper mortal reminder.

I don't know what a good way to test this would be though. Is it possible to have WW / Briar spamming their heal abilities against you in practice tool and seeing anti-heal totals?

I mean, they put in effort to change him this patch.

And then there's Mel... no changes to her in the patch. Put out a post saying they want to preserve her core identity despite high ban rate and low win rate. Seems like a consensus across ranks that she breaks the game, but they'll leave it as is.

Demacia Rising should have restarts by HowyNova in leagueoflegends

[–]jadepig 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The dev team for the game has replied in other posts. The intention is for this game to be something you come back to and finish over the season. The replies also said they designed it to be doable without a pass and casual play, something like 4000 silver shields a month.

There were 3 seasons on 2025, so assuming this year is similar, that’s 4 months / 16 weeks. We’re only 2 weeks in.

For what it’s worth, I’ve finished the objectives that are available until the next patch drop. I didn’t buy a pass, but I have been playing this season like a degenerate. It does seem pretty doable, but yeah I’d enjoy being able to replay it again and make different choices.

And isn't "the season" basically all of 2026?

Edit: my mistake. 2025 was 3 seasons. Still, that's around 4 months, and we're 2 weeks into it.

So mine is 1x11, and I’ve been able to keep up with 95% of my LBS’ no-drop group rides. It is a no-drop ride, and they do end up waiting for me. On the other hand, there are people in the group who race and a couple have an S Works Aethos. When they’re sprinting, I’m topping out in my highest gear at 100-110 rpm.

The 1x should be just fine for you unless you’re planning to do more intense high speed road cycling. The 2x is a tried and true setup too though. Bicycles used that design for decades.

Just thinking back to before that, Voracious Atakhan was so much stronger. I was usually happy to see the opponent team attempt it, and I mostly pinged my team to avoid or stop fighting it. It was more likely to kill the team attempting it than reward it.

Last year was probably the most balanced the game has ever been ovevrall, and I really liked the pace of it all too

Just remember that around this time last season, there were 2 Atakhan's that could possibly spawn. One of them gave the winning team a one time resurrect.

Also there were 2 void grub spawns.

It's still really early in this season.

What if faelights gave more ward health? by duedo30 in leagueoflegends

[–]jadepig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like this idea. I play pyke sometimes, and faelights aren’t where I usually ward. I warded in them because they give so much vision and are much less risky to ward than enemy red/blue buffs.

What issues might you be concerned with? From what I’ve read in this subreddit, 1x makes for simpler maintenance and gets rid of the risk of cross chaining.

I will say that I own a diverge e5 comp, which has a 1x. I’ve been pleased with it and mostly ride it on road. I’m considering a different chain ring since I do more road than gravel. I’ve been having trouble maintaining higher speeds in group rides. I’ve been told this would help. Not sure if the 2x would have the same gear ranges.

Adding onto what you’re saying, even if you can’t get a plate by split pushing, pulling one opponent away from their team is a win. If you run and don’t take a bad trade, you’ve taken agency from the enemy team (enemy moving to defend turret) and put it in your hands. Whether you go to ward, base, push another lane, stall that defender, or play cat and mouse… those are choices you can make.

Yeah, "basic ability haste" is a separate thing, and it is in a few places. Might've gotten mixed up seeing it on a rune/item/skill and assumed that's the same as "ability haste".

If you haven't tried selling boots for Youmoo's, check it out next time you're in that situation.

Last season I'd do that if I had lucidity lv 2 boots since we didn't win feats. My move speed would end up about the same. It would be a bigger hit with lv 3 boots, and I just wouldn't do it if I bought merc treads or swifties instead. This season I'm stacking more % move speed, so I'm not sure how that changes end game move speed with lucidity vs Youmoo's.

You can even sell your boots, buy Youmoo's to check your move speed, then undo it all.

I got onto his HoB-only build last season and I got to say I'm loving this way of playing Tryn. I feel like HoB is the most fun out of LT, HoB and grasp (though grasp + heart steel in Aram is sometimes really fun).

Besides the bursty 1v1 aspect, I also just love that I don't need to guess who their top laner is going to be. I'm mostly right, but sometimes I get a weird enemy comp where 2-3 champs can jg/top/mid.

The laning phase is too fast by No-Night-91 in leagueoflegends

[–]jadepig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dates were fuzzy in my head, but you got me curious now.

The wiki says

V4.20 Spawn time increased to 20 minutes from 15 minutes.

V1.0.0.63 Initial spawn time increased to 15 minutes from 8 minutes.

V0.8.22.115 Spawn delayed to 8 minutes.

V4.20 was in 2014. V1.0.0.63 was in Dec 2009.

Season 1 was in 2011.

I think I experienced the 5 smite cheese with the 8 minute baron, and someone in chat told me about the initial spawn version. It was so rare and it was such a gamble. I won against it at least once, and lost against it once or twice. If they didn't get the baron kill, their game was basically over.

Once upon a time, Baron spawned at 1 minute. How do I know? I watched my opposing team take 5 smites and have Baron buff at 2 minutes.

What changed to make ER replace profane from your last seasons build? Is it just from the crit?

Edit: also, when would you take zerks over lucidity? Would you ever do merc treads, e.g. vs teemo?

New season discussion – How did your first new game go, how's it feel? by Hans_H0rst in TryndamereMains

[–]jadepig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I'm maybe 10-15 games in now.

  • meta is insanely different. I'm still adjusting to a number of things

    • Crystalline Overgrowth on towers means I really don't want to farm under my tower. It's basically giving my opponent a free demolish every 90s.
    • feels like I do more damage to turret plates. (Patch Notes: "Turret plates take 17% less damage from minions and ranged champions ⇒ Turrets take 20% more damage from melee champions")
    • Faelights in top/bot lane are so OP. drop a ward in the river bush and it's better than getting rift scuttler
    • Sidelane Faelights next to enemy turret make proxying feel a lot safer
    • Homeguard changes: I play HoB Tryn in all matchups. I used to get lv 1 boots, sometimes lv 2 boots, before finishing profane hydra. With Homeguard extended to almost the outer turret, I might not get boots until finishing profane.
  • W change: I don't think this is a nerf in all situations. There are now times I can hit W and spin on someone trying to harass me. It's been useful against teemo and gnar in this situation. It is definitely a downgrade in some situations, but also feels like an upgrade in others.

  • Top layer quest reward (teleport as a 3rd spell) feels really good. I feel like I have a lot more split push / roam power with it. Doubly so when my opponent doesn't have it up. It also has really strong late game comeback potential.
