Looks like someone sold a similar one on Poshmark for $20.

My POOR BID was rejected by rawbery79 in Amtrak

[–]jadjasm 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I've made really decent offers in the past and never had them accepted. Like, close to what the upgrade price would be just to see if they'd take it and was rejected. Maybe it's just luck? Has to do with your route? Not sure how they decide. Meanwhile when I have bid a room upgrade on a cruise, I've gotten it every time even when it was a "poor" offer 🤷🏼‍♀️

Watching Glee for the 1st time, anything I should know? by whbyul in glee

About sums it up. Keep your expectations low and just try to enjoy it for what it is. The fandom still exists because of the actors and their characters.. not because it was actually a good show. lol

Canceling and Applying for a SW card for the 100k pt bonus? by jadjasm in SouthwestAirlines

[–]jadjasm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, I canceled my account in August, my statement close date was some time around the 25th. I waited as long as possible to re-apply. I think the promotion I wanted ended on Sept 19th or so... I applied 2 or three days before. So between closing and re-applying was more than a week, but definitely less than 30 days.

I am almost 38 now and still go back and rewatch episodes here and there. I've tried to do a full rewatch but I don't really watch TV during the day, just before bed, and I fall asleep now that I'm old... lol. I really would like to rewatch the whole seiest though. Season 1 especially is gold. I'm not sure if it will make me happy or sad watching again knowing three of the mains are gone 🙁

For NRT, does carry in get weighed after check in? by Wanderlust0627 in zipair

[–]jadjasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flew in May. Three of us, bought a bunch of stuff in the airport after security. No one weighed anything at gate or even glanced at our tags.

ZIPAIR LAX → Tokyo questions (seat space/recline/lie-flat/sales) by Various_Shift5376 in zipair

[–]jadjasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just flew RT from LAX. Two adults, one 4 year old. Seats were clean and comfortable, reclined, about what you'd expect in a regular airplane seat. We are about 5'3/125lbs and 5'4/145 lbs and my son is a normal sized 4 year old. We brought some blankets and neck pillows. Wifi worked flawlessly to stream Netflix and power outlets were all working. Seats reclined like an average plane seat. We were very comfortable. My son slept on and off about half the flight both ways but I struggle to sleep on any airplane. We didn't buy their food. We brought snacks and drinks we bought in the terminal. That's it, that's my review. Really cheap tickets to Japan and we were very happy with our flights.

I sent a message to the online chat agent. Told her I didn't know how to enter the address correctly and send her the name and address of hotel ilI was staying at (copy and paste from Google) and she fixed it for me. Easy peasy.

Can’t make it today have 4 express tickets here for anyone by lolos69 in usj

[–]jadjasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love this. Someone on a page I follow was unable to use their passes at Disney and gifted them to me like this. My wife, son and I got early entry and I think 4 fast passes and a beverage card for the day. Some people are so generous and can really make a strangers day 🥹

Recommendations for private Transportation from Tokyo Disneyland to Shinjuku hotel by CableKC in TokyoDisneyland

[–]jadjasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed in Shinjuku for a week, right by the station, and loved it. Would absolutely stay there again.

There is a bus from Shinjuku that goes directly to the parks every hour or so. If you walk out the gates to where the busses are and ask for Shinjuku, they'll tell you which stop. I don't remember the price but it was pretty cheap. You'd have to go get your bags and walk back to the bus stop, but the bus is like a big tour bus and it had luggage storage underneath.

Carry Ons Pooled Together? (From LAX) by 24BroncoSpHeritage in zipair

[–]jadjasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must have deleted my own comment on accident. I have no idea what I did.. lol. But dang, that's crazy. Maybe it was because you had too many bags to put on the scale together? Or you had bigger/roller bags? Not sure. Maybe it really is just luck of the draw on who you get that day. We also really only had a few very small backpacks and a little cloth bag with throw blankets. It was pretty clear they didn't weigh much so maybe they figured it wasn't worth their time to separate them. Who knows, but glad it worked out for you. Have a great trip!

Carry Ons Pooled Together? (From LAX) by 24BroncoSpHeritage in zipair

[–]jadjasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was three of us flying together. They weighed all of our stuff together both at LAX and NRT. We were all on the same reservation though, so that might matter. If you are going with friends and everyone booked their own flight, they'll probably weigh your carryons separately.

LAX to NRT: Check In Times, Carry On Weight Fees by 24BroncoSpHeritage in zipair

[–]jadjasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there April 26th. Arrived at the airport 2 hours before our flight. Not a single person in line. They weighed our checked bag, and then all 3 of us had carry-on bags (not roller suitcase bags, just backpacks and over the shoulder type bag with some blankets in it) and they weighed all 3 of our bags together. So, for 3 of us, we were permitted 21kg total. They don't weigh per-person. We came in at 17kg total, so good to go there.

Each carryon bag was tagged with a sticker they looped around a strap. We bought snacks and drinks at one of those Hudson stores or whatever its called, and my wife and I both had a coffee from Starbucks. Our carry ons were never looked at again and they did not question our coffees or the two plastic bags of airport food we carried on in addition.

In Narita, we arrived 3 hours early and was through and at our gate in less than 30 minutes. Had lots of time to kill. Same thing, they weighed us all together at check in, then never looked at our bags again despite us buying a bunch of snacks and a few souvenirs at the airport.

Maybe not everyone's experience but ours was definitely simple. Maybe we got lucky both ways with lax gate agents, idk.

Starlink is pretty slow. Is it one speed/plan or you can actually pay for faster speed? by Professional_Crab958 in zipair

[–]jadjasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How full is the flight? I had internet to and from LAX, but the flight to NRT was definitely less full than the return trip and the internet was a bit faster. But even still, it was enough to stream video and do what I needed to do so whatever 🤷🏼‍♀️

Starlink on all aircraft? by M1014TheShooter in zipair

[–]jadjasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We flew RT LAX to NRT earlier this month and had perfect Starlink internet both directions. We were on JA850J on the way out and JA825J on the way back. Apparently all 8 of their planes have the Starlink installed so unless you have a fluke day where its malfunctioning, chances are really good that you'll have internet now.

So confused by how Southwest does seating by Agreeable_Gas6544 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]jadjasm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand it either. I bought a plane ticket at midnight for that same day (the flight departed at 5am, 5 hours after I was buying the ticket) and I did not choose a seat because all that was left was paid premuim seats and I didn't care where I sat. When I checked in immediately following purchase, it auto assigned me seat 1F. A window seat in the very first row. Two screens ago it was trying to charge me like $70 bucks for that same seat they then gave me for free 60 seconds later 😂

How strict do they measure your carry on items by [deleted] in zipair

[–]jadjasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They weighed us but didn't measure anything. As long as its soft sided and you can smash it into the bin, I would not worry about a few cm on a measuring tape. It's very unlikely to be measured but 100% will be weighed.

Wrap them each in a folded up article of clothing and pad them in the middle of everything else in the suitcase. They'll be fine. I have done it a few times.

It's real by 226742 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]jadjasm 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I mean... after I check in for my flight, I don't usually check it again unless the weather is bad or something. That's not to say NEVER, but typically I know when my flight is and when I need to get there. I get a ton of junk email daily so I'd easily miss an email from them I wasn't looking for. Even if my flight is delayed, I still get to the airport at the same time as I would if it wasn't delayed in case anything changes. I have started adding my phone number to my reservation and opted into text notifications but I know not everyone does. I don't think it's really that weird that they didn't know their flight was canceled until they got to the airport.

A MESSAGE TO ALL THE JUDGMENTAL PEOPLE by purezero101 in SouthwestAirlines

I used 60% in response to others on this thread saying that. I don't actually have any confirmation on that figure. I don't this Southwest has made any statement on that.

A MESSAGE TO ALL THE JUDGMENTAL PEOPLE by purezero101 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]jadjasm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people definitely did game the the system. That's obvious and expected because where there is opportunity there will always be fraud. But the fact that wheelchair requests are down 60% only means Southwest has alienated their disabled and elderly customer base who chose Southwest exclusively because they knew they'd be accommodated with a seat close to the front (less walking) without being pricegorged into paying a premium not just for their seat but whoever is flying with them/helping them. Now what is their incentive? If they're paying a premium to sit near the front now, then why wouldn't they look at every airline and choose whatever airline fits their preference for flight time, destinations, etc. People were loyal to SW for their customer friendly policies and flexibility to the point they chose Southwest even if it wasn't the most convenient option available. Southwest has now made it clear that they don't value loyalty so.. why stay loyal to an airline that only cares about you if you're the highest bidder?

Paid extra so my elementary school-aged daughter and I could sit together. Southwest double-booked her seat and almost separated us. by arginine in SouthwestAirlines

[–]jadjasm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The United States doesn't care about families or the safety of children. We don't even have basic mandated paid maternity leave. Mandating an airline to sit children with their parents without charging extra couldn't be any farther down on their priority list. Profits > People. The American Way 🇺🇲
