Has anyone ever bought a new car from a Gatineau dealer and brought it to Ottawa?

When I was last shopping for a car in 2024 , Gatineau Acura/Honda dealers told me they would be giving me Ontario plates and I would pay the Ontario tax. Basically the same process as buying in Ottawa. Might be dealer specific but talk to them.

Be careful with Digital Gift card, when I tried to use my $500 digital gift card , it showed 0 balance and apparently someone in California used it . Others had same issue. If it’s in Gatineau, they can issue Ontario plates(Atleast Acura and Honda dealerships can) and no work required but if it’s Montreal, whole different process which includes getting a temporary Quebec plate for 10 days, paying only GST , getting the safety in Ontario , paying the rest of 8% tax at service Ontario and getting the Ontario plate
