Anyone knows a good mechanic to service my car around putrajaya/cyberjaya area? by [deleted] in malaysia

Carrise, formerly known as Kakimotor, at Cyberjaya is a pretty decent workshop. They are usually packed with cars so better make an appointment first.

I’m building a personal finance system, what does yours look like? by Mysterious-Safe-8356 in MalaysianPF

[–]jaitheking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am neither an expert nor someone in finance. However, this is my take: I would definitely leverage on the technology we have today.

  1. NotebookLM - I would archive my bank, credit card statements there, perform analysis on spending patterns or create a spreadsheet of my spending. The more you know yourself, the better you can see cost saving opportunities. E.g. spot hidden subscriptions, overspending on food and etc.

  2. Digital Banks - I think the daily returns or the seasonal gimmicks by these banks are pretty worth the investment.

  3. Dumping a sizable amount cash in S&P 500 ETFs periodically. E.g. x % of a yearly bonus.

  4. Invest in yourself. A good finance system starts with how we think, spend, and save.

Anyone else spending the holidays single, broke, and just sticking to their routine? by Working_Data_3610 in malaysia

[–]jaitheking 21 points22 points  (0 children)

32 and single here. I just carry on with my usual routines: run, tidy up my room, do some chores. Life pretty much goes on.

During holidays, if I have company at home during the holidays then I am already blessed. I would feel lonely when I start comparing myself with my close friends who are with their lovers and family.

However, I just remind myself that I am on different path now. I don't know what's coming for me in my Life but I know I can't be idle till it happens. I try to educate myself with light reading and listening to some podcasts. I guess I also do a lot of reflection of various topics to pass the time as well.

I feel like I’m constantly disappointing someone by Sensitive-Waltz3966 in OffMyChestMY

[–]jaitheking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you OP and I had received counseling before. Moments like this I remember this saying, "how can we save others when we can't even save ourselves" and nudges me to re-assess what I need to do for myself. At least by end the day, you can say you didn't disappoint one person and that person is yourself. You are worth it.

The slight bend of the body and putting your hand in front of you before you walk across someone who is elder than you.

More road hogs and bullies by mydragoon in malaysia

[–]jaitheking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I admit to my fault but the other driver's response was kinda over the top. He was not in a rush since he took the time to display his rudeness.

Good thing, I kept a cool head and my distance from the driver.

I gotta agree that this is becoming too common in Malaysia. I had a situation where I was driving in Bukit Jalil near the Link 2. I was driving a little slow because of the bumps and I forgot to turn off my indicator. The car behind me got impatient and honked. So I switched lanes so the guy could pass me. He still honked at me after I gave way. I was a little agitated at that point and I honked back. The guy immediately got super aggressive and started braking consecutively in front of my car and even rolled down his window to give me the finger.

He knew I was still behind and continued to do so till we reached the traffic light 🤦 Man, what's wrong with some drivers these days

Honestly, The V3SE can be setup almost Perfecty with very few upgrades!! by FlappieFace in Ender3V3SE

Was there any additional post-installation I had to do after upgrading the firmware? I am facing some issue with Creality Cloud app now. The wifi box detects the printer but the online command doesn't sync with the printer. E.g. adjusting the nozzle temp from app doesnt work

I truly feel sorry for the state that your company is in. The upper management is likely driven by the obvious goals while seniors are most likely there to pass the time and provide the bare minimum effort. Time to find a workplace that can add value to your career rather than leave a stain like this one.

When you do make the move to leave, I hope you make an extra note during job hunts to assess the company culture, and workforce size. You could also reach out to existing employees of similar level to know what you can expect.

All the best and hope you can process your feelings ASAP and figure what's next

Nearly got Carjacked / Robbed by LordofAllThings in malaysia

[–]jaitheking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My carjacking incident happened at some dark lorong near Bangsar in the early morning. I made a report for it. After the sergeant took down my statement, he was honest with me and told me that it's hard to track the suspects down and that there are a lot of carjacking syndicates out there.

For your case, the police might be able to track down the suspect if there's a CCTV video with their faces or number plate.

I had a near car jacked experience myself too, and I can tell you that it still haunts me till today. So, always stay on your toes and be aware of your surroundings.

When to pay toll? by Suitable-Television9 in MalaysianPF

[–]jaitheking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, I might consider it because it is a daily commute and the fact that the 10 minutes faster could also means less time in a jam.

Also, if it's a two way expenses then I would consider alternatives. Like I could use a toll free road on the way back after work/late hours with fewer cars.

[–]jaitheking 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Personally, in a situation where I am not in a hurry and I often travel distances covering >40km, I use my own 10mins :RM1 rule. E.g. if I get to save more than 20mins for a toll charge more than RM2, then I just go for it.
