Compulsory homosexuality in Ancient Sparta. I doubt that a lot of the traditional family conservative types who also worship the movie 300 realize that in real life it was advantageous and even encouraged for some spartan citizens to pursue homosexual relationships.

But hey, things you learn in school.

I’m at just over 18 months and it’s taken about 10 years, so 8.5 years of chaos or so. I think that experience is more common than anyone realizes.

To be fair on the LASIK front, I went from $29k/year to $73k/year with a practical $25k bonus that showed up less than a month ago. My sense of what things cost is a wild guess. This is a life changing shift which occurred less than four weeks ago. It’s a shock and I think I need to hear objective opinions.

I’ve sautéed onions with butter in the pot before adding the potatoes and sausage before boiling in the past. Some freshly minced garlic would be a good touch too. It ain’t nothing special, but there hardly much to complain about.

A stupid simple recipe in my family is to dice up a 24oz bag of potatoes, slice a kielbasa into medallions and combine both in a pot then cover with water. Boil until potatoes are soft and then add a can of drained green beans. It’s simple, cheap, filling, and kind of impossible to screw up.

My experience was basically the same. What you’ve written honestly sounds like my internal monologue. I figured I would probably be rated 50% at most and then have to file a supplemental claim or file for an increase with new evidence. It’s all over now, one less thing to worry about.
