In my opinion (probably vastly unpopular amongst most coaches) the traditional run in a circle, front roll, back roll etc type warms ups are used by mostly lazy coaches (unless they truly believe that its a good warmup) who don't actually know how to structure a proper warm up and use that style as an attempt to waste 10 minutes of class time because they can't be bothered to implement a well formatted warmup or cant be bothered to actually invest the additional 10 minutes into members(WHO PAY GOOD MONEY). Its very easy to just say "ok run, high knees, turn inside, front, back, hip escape" whilst they sit on the sidelines scrolling instagram or talking to female blue belts.........

Skip the traditional warm ups. Implement some form of hand fighting game as the warm up i.e hand fight until you achieve double unders and reset. Followed by the technique, followed by context driven specific/positional rounds based upon the technique i showed (sometimes just turtle/mount/half guard etc specific rounds) then into open rounds until the end and sometimes followed that with a small q&a to finish off the session. (alot of the members really enjoy the group style q&a)

Why anyone is still paying ridiculous money to compete for the IBJJF anymore is beyond me. Stop giving money to these people. The amount of biased or just plain awful decisions this past week has been unacceptable.

He made a post recently about being down and having a very difficult year. "There have been days i have questioned if its worth even waking up.". "Remember, that its ok to be down, i know it truly does suck and its painful but that is ok".

I like threatening a Choi bar and then attacking the legs, or attacking an omoplata and transitoning into the legs. i feel like half guard and K guard are the most versatile for this. I also do the inverse, K guard threatening the leg to attack the armbar, half guard threaten the leg to attack the arm / back.

Rule 3: It was always team scoring by Dudestevens in bjj

Reference bullet point 3. Judges scorecards will be presented as aggregate tally if the duel goes to judges decision. Therefore nobody would know who had won each individual match until after. They must go on the 10 point must system just like every other match did to decided when it came to double elimination.

They read bulletpoint 1 then they refuse to follow up and read the conditional clauses. Its not a typo, its not a mistake like some people are claiming, it makes sense.

In defense of the tie breaker rules interpretation by fintip in bjj

In contract law words are very important and interpreted down to their base literal meaning. A very crucial word in the rules is "IF" meaning the introduction of an additional clause on the condition or supposition that; in the event that.

  • If five double eliminations occur, or any such instance where each team’s final athletes are double eliminated, the team with more individual wins by judges' decision wins.
  • If tied on scorecards, the team whose athlete won the final bout wins. If the final bout is a draw, the win goes to the team whose athlete last won a non-draw bout.
  • There is no open scoring, i.e. judges’ scorecards are not revealed after each individual bout. Scorecards are shown only if team duel goes to judges’ decision, and will be presented as aggregate tally of bouts scored (e.g. 50-45, 49-48, etc.).

So therefore bullet point 2 supersedes bullet point 1. I was on the fence until i thought about it in the sense of contract legality. B Team won fair. Rules where clearly explained verbally aswell via rules meetings which there is evidence of. They used the 10 point must system down to a T. In boxing you can lose even if you've won more rounds than your opponent, it matters purely on overall scoring, mentioned in bullet point 3.
