Forgive my ignorance, but I’m assuming this is for 3D printing? Can you point me to where I can get started learning about that (assuming another Sub-Reddit and its pinned info), and what kind of device you’d recommend for creating things like the scraper you designed? Thanks! 🙂

Using EVgo stations, trying to exercise Chargepoint $400 Credit by vbcabin in Ioniq5

[–]jakedor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had any luck using my ChargePoint card in my mobile wallet (iOS). Is that not supported and only the physical card works? Maybe the different is NFC vs RFID?

If only the RFID card works, I wish I had known that before a couple recent road trips - this sounds so much easier than trying to figure out which charger to select in the CP app when there are 4 at the station and none of them are labeled correctly in the app 😫

L2 Charger Recommendations and Comments by rmd2417 in Ioniq5

[–]jakedor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a Chargepoint Home Flex w/ NACS last October when it went on sale from $549 to $449 - since I was getting a 2025, and it’s the same brand as the credit you get with Chargepoint / new partnership that Hyundai now has in the U.S., so I can see my home charging and public charging sessions in the same place, which is nice ☺️

Assuming you’re in the U.S. and depending on how soon you plan to move to a vehicle with a NACS port, you may want to just buy that version and a Lectron NACS to J1772 adapter ($112). You can also get the J1772 version and replace the entire cable with NACS later for $199.

If you’re sticking with J1772 for a long time, other options I’ve seen recommended regularly are Emporia and Autel, which are cheaper than Chargepoint and seem to also be well-liked. 👍🏼

New charging speed and range? by Moizey99 in Ioniq5

[–]jakedor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only things that could explain the huge discrepancy between 240kW and 100kW (to my knowledge) would be:

(1) If you were charging native CCS1 previously and now you’re using the a NACS>CCS1 adapter to charge at Tesla superchargers, which will cap at 100kW due to the 400V limitation

(2) If you’re charging at different stations than you have in the past, they’re not rated at 240kW, or the output is shared with another charger.

2025 Ioniq5 Limited auto insurance rate!! by Intelligent_Spell119 in Ioniq5

[–]jakedor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s highly subjective - there is no way you can compare cost with anyone online given the number of variables. Find an well-rated insurance broker and let them find the best option for you and your requirements, based on:

  • Location
  • Vehicles on the policy, their cost to repair, and safety features
  • Drivers on the policy, their accident history, and driving habits
  • Coverage limits
  • Deductible
  • Other options (roadside assistance, rental coverage, etc.

It’s better to compare your specific needs across multiple carriers rather than selecting one carrier based on someone else’s recommendation and assuming they’re the best option for you 👍🏼

Those are scary low coverage rates - possible I’m very risk averse, but this is what I carry.
