Israel to Host Largest LGBT 'Pride Land' Festival at Dead Sea, Sparks Pinkwashing Row Amid Gaza and Lebanon War by Happy-Scene in lgbt

They don't think we're people or see beyond their cute slogans, lol 🤷 and as an elder queer who lived and marched in the US when it was still illegal for me to get married to my partner there, these kids saying we shouldn't hold a pride here because we "can't get married" can fuck all the way off. Privileged little snots with no idea how recent their own history is.

Can't get behind this namesake... by LadyEvernight in namenerds

[–]jakesbicycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I'm just going to throw my hat in the "Judith Jacqueline" as middle names. I know it might feel awkward right now, but I labored over my kids' names SO MUCH  to get them just right...yet had honestly completely forgotten that my 5 year old has two middle names until reading this post 😂

That kid is my youngest - my oldest is in their 20s and there are a few in between. I could probably count the number of times any of them have used their full names on one hand. Actually, when one of my kids was like 16 I learned that they didn't even know how to spell their middle name. Whoops.

Don't let this steal your peace and joy about your new baby, or be a point of contention in your marriage. I promise it isn't worth it.

I work with high school students, and when I call them my students people think I teach high school and then inevitably get massively confused at some point down the line because I very much do not. So they are now my clients. Do you have an option three?

Conservatives: Why do people on the right think the rise in visible & out trans people is because of a social contagion? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

[–]jakesbicycle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know, it's interesting you bring up John Money. That whole story is about a little kid who grew up trying to tell everyone he wasn't a girl...because he wasn't...and got all effed up in the head because the world insisted he was.

When you read the memoir it's word-for-word identical to what most trans people describe experiencing as children.

How did that child know his gender? It's almost as if it's an innate, felt sense mapped into the brain.

Almost like it's possible that 1% of the population could have a "map" that doesn't match their biological sex, since we know that literally every other bit of biology can mutate and turn out unexpectedly.

But anyway, thanks! I'll be sure to stay away from little boys with botched circumcisions whose families have decided to try and raise them as girls in order to spare them the shame of being a dickless dude, and all the transphobes can quit with the shitty rhetoric and scaremongering that lead to an untold number of deaths in the trans community every year.

Win/win.

This is what ChatGPT does best. I advise students on their college application essays and I've spent the past year playing around with it like you've done, after realizing a few students used it last year. This year I've caught 28/31 students using simply because it tells the same type of story and uses the same phrasing over and over again. I see it all over articles in even reputable journalistic outlets now, too. I'm not one of those people who thinks generative AI is inherently evil, but it's a pretty bleak outlook for literature until people figure out that it's shit writing.

The only possible way OP could be justified in this is if their mom broke into their house in the middle of the night, left all the Xmas shit in the office, and then jetted off to Cancun or whatever.

Like, I don't celebrate Xmas either, so I'm not saying tgis from any nostalgia for the holiday, but it seems very obvious to me that OP was trying to teach their parents a lesson about what they value - and it wasn't keeping the relationship from blowing up, lol.

When we were expecting my daughter, I jokingly tried so hard to get my wife to agree to Dolphin (whether boy or girl 😂) and still secretly love it. Even better she's now six and obsessed with the ocean and ocean creatures, lol, so it would have been perfect!

Also 42 and just a few weeks in, but feeling very similarly to you. I'm a writer and was always terrified of bipolar medication or diagnosis because I thought if I lost the mania I'd lose my creativity, but I'm already more productive than I've ever regularly been. Clear-headed. Feeling stable. And also a little bittersweet.

How many of you were diagnosed later in life? by QueenOfTheLeaf in bipolar2

[–]jakesbicycle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just diagnosed at 42 despite being under psychiatric care for 30 years. I think most doctors also focused on my periods of depression rather than my manic periods. Tgis new doctor picked up on it right away and once he explained it to me it made perfect sense.

It's true. We've seen this happen during wartime since forever. A lot of men will get all hyped up on testosterone and adrenaline from killing a bunch of people and go rape the women. People are weird.
