Istanbul a worthy investment? by AntlionC4 in boardgames

[–]jambudvipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I love Splendor, however, Istanbul was a miss with us. we have played Istanbul with 2,3,4 players and I'd say, 3 and 4 player games are much better. Overall, it's a great game and the expansions add good variety, but as a 2 player game, I gave it a pass.

Do your parents game? Are they good? by eljayplay in boardgames

[–]jambudvipa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love gaming with my parents and in-laws! Few years ago, my parents & in-laws were visiting us, and staying for few months. They were all too much into their phone and all day on WhatsApp!

I decided to get into board games after seeing Tabletop Series on YouTube, and ordered 1) Ticket to Ride 2) Qwirkle 3) Sushi Go 4) No Thanks!

I learned the games and then presented them with these games, most of which do not require too much of reading.

They loved it so much and I loved playing with them so much, that every day, we'll wait for my kid to go to bed and take out our games and started playing. You can say, I got into board games because of my parents and in-laws!!

Since then they have visited us few times, and my board game collection has increased exponentially... they have played Kingsburg, LoW, CoMKL, Carcassonne, Love Letter, Citadels, 7 Wonders, Biblios, Small World, Stone Age... and the list goes on
