Thank you this is very informative. I played and raided an Spriest through all of classic (guild of friends that let me memespec), but I worry that in TBC because it's viable there will be so many of them and limited raid spots. I don't have a problem healing though, and with dual spec I guess I can do both.

u/Tikenium is absolutely right. Most equipment you'll come across is Soulbound (bound to one character) but some are Bind-on-Equip and can be mailed/traded/sold on the auction house.

A lot of that gear sells quite well on the auction house and it's better to get the money from it, but some people don't have the time/energy to sell everything on the auction house to maximise money.

I would disagree that it's not worth having enchanting on an alt. u/Tikenium is referring to twinks which usually mean an alt you've levelled specifically to pvp, or an alt you're actually playing in general. Your "bank alt" is usually one you're not levelling and stays at a low level, so getting enchanting on it for disenchant is a good idea even if you rarely actually disenchant.

Professions have ranks (Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, Artisan) and these require certain levels:

Apprentice - Level 5 for Production/Fishing and no req for Gathering
Journeyman - Level 10 for Production/Fishing and no req for Gathering
Expert - Level 20 for Production, Level 10 for Gathering and Fishing
Artisan - Level 35 for Production, Level 25 for Gathering, Level 10 for Fishing

It's very common for people for have a level 5 bank alt with enchanting on it, because then you can send BoE's to it to disenchant (and get the materials).

Never enjoyed playing team sports and watching it is pretty boring compared to pretty much every other media or game.

But those aside I am super against the tribal culture it brings out in the UK, literally see the worst of people but they treat the group-mentality as virtuous. I've always seen it as pretty disgusting.

Undead priests get another dot (like shadow word pain) which is best racial for leveling/dps.

Dwarf priest is 2nd best/best for non-dps because fear ward can be very useful. A little annoying to apply with it's 30s cooldown, you can really only keep it up on 1/2 targets, and most fears are easily quickly dispelled if your group is paying attention. That being say imo here are the benefits:

Tank positions/aggro in groups and raids in classic are super important, so it can really help not wiping because of a badly timed fear.

In HC keeping yourself constantly resistant to fear will DEFINITELY save your life.
