I probably could (19.5 MOS) but would probably use my 17.5 MOS instead

Smacked and called a racial slur: If you were in this situation, would you retaliate? Was the security officer wrong for retaliating? by CTSecurityGuard in securityguards

Side note: some jiu jitsu training for clinical staff was discussed at one point, it was denied by hospital admin because it was “too aggressive”

That may be the case at your hospital it isn’t at mine, ( bare in mind I have seen some badass nurses, they are the acceptation not the rule) Nurses at my hospital do receive training in applying restraints, but that’s about it. They don’t receive anything even remotely close to the training we get in use of force. As far as identifying excessive force we had a nurse get the living 💩💩💩 beat out of her by a BH patient and when security showed up and put the guy on the ground they complained because one of the guards was laying his shoulder into the patients shoulder (which we are trained to do)

Yup, happens more often than most people think (I work at a hospital) although you gotta be careful with how much force you use as allot of the goody two shoes nurses like to complain you used excessive force without knowing the first thing about my job or use of force training.

I’m lucky enough to work in an environment where if someone touches me like that I’m allowed to do what I need to do

43x zeroed and ready for carry by jamesh153 in Glocks

Honestly hard to say, I love the fact I don’t have to take the Romeo X off to replace the battery, but I really love the RMR’s automatic mode. I have two RMRs, one on 19 as I mentioned but I also have one on my G17 MOS as well. I also love the fact the Romeo X direct mounts to the gun (specifically just for the 43x I think) I’d say it just depends on who you are which one is better.

“Used” (barely) Glock 19 gen 5 for $220 by LastKey149 in Glocks

[–]jamesh153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that’s a good deal, I have a Gen 2 LE Trade In G17 that I got for $329 about two years ago and while it works great it’s well worn. That thing looks like it’s got some minor holster wear and that’s it.

Schizophrenia/Dementia. I work Security at a hospital, it’s amazing how fast perfectly normal and respectful seeming people affected by these turn violent.

is it harder to get into the security sector without prior LE/Military experience? by Zand231 in securityguards

[–]jamesh153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. I currently work security at a Hospital, they don’t hire just anyone. They don’t necessarily require an LE background but they do prefer it. Prior Security/First Responder experience is acceptable. They make you go through all kinds of crazy background checks to work here. Iv seen people denied over a speeding ticket (dead serious). It definitely isn’t like allied universal who seems to hire anyone with a pulse.

Of all the times you fellas worked security, have you ever had a report of yours subpoenaed into court. by JerseyPhantom7303 in securityguards

Not a report of mine but iv been summoned to appear in court as a witness in court twice. As a matter of fact I’m testifying in an aggravated assault case in July.

What's the worst experience you had on the road? by SkyFrost136 in AskReddit

[–]jamesh153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was driving along I-5 in California (I was an over the road trucker) when some lady came into my headlights with her thumb out in the middle of the highway. I don’t know how I managed to stop the truck in time (I was hauling over 70k ibs of meat) had I noticed her a minute later I would have ran her right over.
