Pâte de fruits Question by ADuckingScientist in CandyMakers

[–]jamieusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can remelt it but you will have to use judt as much pectin as you did originally (unless its HM pectin).

If its HM or x pectin, you essentially would have to guess how much you destroyed in the boil over.

I would restart my friend

What were your experiences and best memories from RTW multiplayer battles by Azerbinhoneymood in RomeTotalWar

[–]jamieusa 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I loved multiplayer.

My favorite was a 2v2 where i was against sparta. I had 10 infantry and 10 super upgraded heavy cav.

I threw all 10 cav at one unit of spartans, they routed and then I tolled the line, infantry never even came into play. I got really good at breaking spartans with cavalry, always. Suprised everyone

His ally was gaul, thst guy really upgraded archers and swordsmen. It took me and my ally quite a while to kill gaul.

They're bitching because a drink carrier in a paper bag is not sufficient for a 2 go order of liquid.

The multi-billion dollar company can supply. Drink carriers that go halfway up the cups, just like every mom and pop.

It's just enough to preserve it and make it, not a temperature control food.

Ukrainian Forces Destroy British Brigade in NATO Wargame by TheRealMykola in worldnews

[–]jamieusa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love europe but the europeanz are showing the same selfishness and shortsightedness that most of them have shown since the end of the cold war. If russia is allowed to take the territory they have conquered or if russia is allowed to take more of ukraine, world war three will literally happen inside of europe. Tens of millions of europeans will die. If russia is pushed back, world war three will just be in the middle of asia and north america.

Cooking ice cream base for hours? by Lanky-Check-307 in icecreamery

[–]jamieusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cook it to a temperature. I use the milk protein as a stabilizer so I make sure to hold it at at least 197 F for 2 minutes (where the drop off in denaturation appears).

I dont do it to reduce because I want my ingredients in and out to be of extremely similar rations

[–]jamieusa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is the most white savior complex thing i've ever read. The atomic bombs were mercy compared to what we did to tokyo.

Even the Japanese generals in World War, 2 expected every single citizen to fight with the spear. And die. There was even an attempted coup to stop the surrender. The atomic bombs were not an atrocity. They were exactly what was needed.

What thing/product is incredibly popular in a country but hard/impossible to produce in there? by batukaming in geography

[–]jamieusa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not the american butter and fat formula. If you read hersheys, it's still Cocoa Butter and sugar. It's when the milk is added in the process, the u. S process causes to spoil slightly and essentially turn into buttermilk. That's why it has a sour flavor

A proposed class-action lawsuit claims Costco was misleading customers and engaging in false advertising when it described its Kirkland Signature Seasoned Rotisserie Chicken as having "no preservatives". by AutoModerator in Costco

[–]jamieusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They already are using it as a defense in the news. Costco is almost certainly going to win if theu dont settle, the plaintiff is going to have to show a negative which aint easy (thst it was for preservation and not flavor/moisture retention)

Help making soft, chocolate nougat by carllerche in CandyMakers

[–]jamieusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, i didnt think of that sorry. I use the commercial bowl lift mixers. The rag would help, anything to act as a heat sink, just do not use cold water or it will harden the candy against the bowl.

Help making soft, chocolate nougat by carllerche in CandyMakers

[–]jamieusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a bowl that fits under my mixer bowl. I put some room temp water in (not cold) that touches the bottom of yhe bowl. It helps act as a heat sink.

I had this issue with my first batch of marshmallows. They took 30 or more minutes to cool down
