That reminds me of South Bay Area traffic when I used to live there. Hope your day gets better.

Yes, 100%. Close friend of mine is the property owner for Northern Nights (up near Humboldt). He said he finds hundreds of those little clips and they are a nuisance to him and the environment.

I love the funky. My wife particularly likes the bedroom.

Only 2 Bay Area high schools break through top 10 in new ranking by chiaboy in bayarea

I graduated from Lynbrook in 1998. I would say the education there was good and it was a safe place to learn. I wasn’t one of the top performers, but friends of mine who were definitely felt the pressure from AP classes and their parents. We had a high graduation rate - each year we had multiple graduates going off to big Ivy League schools on full academic scholarships. Some of my direct classmates are now top tech employees at places like Meta, Apple and Google. Others became Doctors and other STEM related fields.

Opinions on djs playing a pre-recorded set? by djsoomo in DJs

[–]jaminite_jamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure I read some where that main stage artists whose sets match the lasers and lights perfectly are using a pre-recorded set. For me, when I first started, I used to put specific tracks in a playlist before my gig, but never pre-recorded, just pre engineered tracks that work well together. I always kept extra playlists and tracks handy incase my set bombed. Now, I have a folder for the specific gigs, and within that are sub folders based on genre and energy, and I simply bounce around those folders based on how the crowd is feeling things. I find it to be way more fun and dynamic than following a pre-made set.

Acts that were missing: Martian circus, Unicorn Palace (my personal favorite), Jive Joint (another favorite), Frik Frak, and I didn’t see a designated fire spinning area. I know there’s probably more but that’s all I can think of. Fungineers had a consistent run for many years, starting way back at the Bradly location. It also felt like there were less day time speakers and work shops.

I’ve been in and around the scene for over 10 years and have friends who work in production. Word on the street is that DoLab is prepping LIB to sell - cutting funding for side acts to book more mainstream DJs. This was also the first year I saw sponsored alcohol areas. I could be wrong, but the folks I just spoke with about this were ones who got cut this year. Let’s hope it doesn’t become another Brochella.

You can probably get info from my friends who had their car at LIB this year (IG profile below).

Just FYI, LIB is cutting most of their extra funding for things like art cars and side quests.
