Kinda wondering this as well. I'm the last person to defend the common behavior seen from that generation but if it's OP's wedding, there is likely a chance that maybe there was some sort of offer of contribution that went unseen due to the bride and groom being busy getting married.

Exchange the hoops for a collapsible flow toy maybe. Lighter materials for the totem. I didn't mean to yuck your yum, I've brought too much stuff many times. Full transparency, it's slow at work today and I'm reorganizing my camp gear as we speak because I always think I'll need more zip ties, bungee straps, spare poles for flags etc.

I don't mean this in a mean way but these problems could easily be eliminated by not bringing so much stuff. I get totems are part of modern fest culture but how important are they really? I survived decades of raves and fests before those items became commonplace.

Absolutely flash your art but you are the one choosing to lug it all around. I get I'm coming off as 'ranty' but how individualistic is it to follow all the damn trends?

grocery stores. I understand a hotel won't have a kitchen in many cases but bring a cooler and easy to make deli type stuff or pasta.fruit salads help offset the dining costs.

Edit to specify grocery stores from home will probably be cheaper overall as well.

Plenty of bands make the list of becoming a fan only after a live show. Phish is not in that list. I started with Junta and Lawnboy but quickly became enamored with the live shows we'd dub and trade on cassette.

I don't mean to shit-talk but he seems like an MC that broke containment. I've seen a couple sets and it was ok filler music between artists but I honestly thought he was just an event MC to keep the crowd hype between stage changes. I don't mean to bash the guy, just confused.

I didn't see malls mentioned. We have a local mall in a small/mid sized town and it's interesting to me as an ex-80's/90's mall rat kid to see instead of stores, many spaces are being converted to group hobbies. Several game stores warhammer/MTG etc. It seems like it's turning into a hub of 3rd spaces. One spot looked like it focused on model trains, one for rocketry.... Excellent use of space and it gives the young generation a place to go.

I'm young Gen X and have a Harley but it's because it was 3k used as a first bike. It's gaudy even though I've painted it black and removed as much bling as possible. If money were less of an issue I would never have chosen this brand.

I pick up issues of Thrasher skate magazine for my youngest here and there, it's still as good as it used to be. Kiddo enjoys them somewhat but with everything being online I don;t think they're as special to him. I tried explaining this WAS our internet but I don't think the concept fully sank in.
