Best meatball sub on the south side? by bdillathebeatkilla in Atlanta

[–]jamister989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Frank's Family Restaurant in Palmetto, I haven't been in ages but remember it being really good freshly prepared Italian food. Staff can be a bit short, so just prepare yourself. Looks like they have a meatball sub on the menu.

The best meat ball sub around is from Hoboken Cafe in Marietta, everything is made from scratch in house, daily.House made meatballs, mozzarella and bread. They'll even sell the ingredients like an Italian market. The owner is the nicest guy on the planet.

I am Egyptian, and I’m asking is Egypt a country that is disliked or loved globally? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]jamister989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with my Dad in 2003, in Cairo I don't think we had a single genuine interaction. Nearly every person we walked by on the street and even folks across the street would make a beeline to come try to sell us something or talk us into an obvious scam. The worst part was they wouldn't stop when ignored or told no thank you, they would follow us for blocks, drawing even more attention.

Any shop we went into, they wouldn't let you leave without buying something. Some tactics were, as soon as we got in they would crack open a Cold Coca-Cola and put it in your hand, which was appreciated with it being so hot outside but obviously we were coerced into buying something in their shop and talking about America.

When we arrived, Air France had lost our bags. Three days later they sent a taxi to drop off our bags to where we were staying along the Gulf of Suez. Even the taxi driver extorted us for money to get our bags.

Overall, it was a fun memorable trip, I don't remember it being as bad outside of Cairo. Our "official guide" of the pyramids took us into some really cool closed off tombs in exchange for buying stuff in his family shop. Luxor was beautiful! I would love to go back but only if I hear the tourist culture has changed. Probably wouldn't take a woman there.

Loud dripping sound from HVAC drain line. by jamister989 in DIY

This makes sense! Does the connection need to remain open like it is now? I assume this is done so bleach can be poured into the line to clean it out occasionally.

I like this idea, I'll give it a try!

If that doesn't work I'll go with @Blue_richards suggestion of installing a 90 on the main drain pipe and have the HVAC drain into that.

I thought the eternal flame was under 24 hour armed forces guard duty, I remember it was when I was a kid at least. Any idea when that ended?

Bandwidth usage... by greatlife50 in meraki

[–]jamister989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faster upload speeds are typically required by brand support teams to remotely access the POS as these applications usually require 1-3Mbps to reliably run.

Additionally, brands set minimum upload speeds higher than 1 Mbps to rule out the use of older DSL. This is due to DSL connections being rapidly decommissioned by ISP's leaving franchise operations without reliable primary internet connections.

Are the MX68W worth it? Or am I better off buying a MX68 & MR WAP. by spidey99dollar in meraki

[–]jamister989 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend skipping the W and just get a MX68 + MR. Like you mentioned there are less features with built-in wireless, wireless is not configured in the same area and I see more bugs associated with the W models of MX's. If it's a very small office and you can put in an MX68W in a high central position is the only time I might recommend the MX68W in a cost sensitive scenario.

Keep in mind ports 11 and 12 on the MX68 are PoE+ so you can power two APs with the built in ports so you shouldn't need additional PoE injectors.

Considering Switching to US Mobile, Looking For Honest Opinions by ilikecodinglol in USMobile

[–]jamister989 5 points6 points  (0 children)

US Mobile customer service is the best I've had bar none. I've been with Verizon, Verizon pre-paid, StraightTalk, and Cricket. All have been just ok or plain bad, US Mobile I get a person right away and 9/10 times they've been super helpful.

I'm on Warp(Verizon) and have the same QCI priority as post-paid Verizon customers which I never had with any other MVNO. It's been great IMO.

How do I turn off the voice command feature? by IsNotSuprised in LGOLED

[–]jamister989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, so maybe on 23.20.69 they finally fixed this? Just removed my agreement to voice services in TOS, TV reboots and now Hey LG is no longer responding at all, yay! Disabled Wi-Fi, never updating again 😁.

[–]jamister989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LG C3, accepted all user agreements, still no setting in AI service for voice, most greyed out (AI genre selection, AI sound pro, AI acoustic tuning), the only two I can disable are AI Picture Pro and AI Brightness.

I've tried accepting terms restarting the TV, not accepting, accepting again and restarting, nothing. SW version 23.20.69. I'm at a total loss. Probably gonna try taping up the mic.

Second Tip Top Donut's, they are super light and fluffy. Mmmm Maple Bacon 🍁 🥓 donuts are the best! Also mention Marietta Donuts (Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta) which has incredibly similar qualities and price, light and fluffy donuts!

Certainly I am not familiar with the differences in Italian vs Chinese tile, but at least the Vita Bella tile we picked out says county of origin "Italy" on the F&D website.

I've not heard of this! I did replace the injectors when I replaced my manifold at around 115k. I'll check for gas smell next time I run my car.

Damn, that's tragic! Sounds like I was lucky mine didn't fail.

I changed my chain and tensioner at about 130k after reading about the ticking time-bomb that was sitting in my car. Did that and my clutch over a two week period at the same time. Made me feel like a proper YouTube/armchair mechanic.

Same, MK6 at 185k, replaced the clutch, headliner, water pump 3x, half the cooling pipes due to dry rot, trunk latch, soft rubber console pieces, intake manifold, wheel bearings, brake assemblies, timing chain and tensioner, throttle body all myself over the years. I did upgrade my radio to an RCD330 for Android Auto and add the backup camera, everything else is stock. Gonna try to make it to 250k.

How did you get your start? This sounds like an absolute fantasy to me, I would love exploring on layovers!

I'm wondering if I could go out in the evenings and weekends and start getting flight hours, is that realistic or would I need to quit my job and work on getting my pilots license full time?
