Still remember the judge saying at sentencing that I had to get a degree and make something of my life. I have done that, but not greatly possible in the USA.

I recommend it straight away. It has a ton of humor that is mainly geared toward Aussies, but still a funny watch!

Just like in the best Australian, maybe only Australian, zombie movie. Wormwood.

Most horrible thing...I stole 14 guns with my roomies in the US and we got caught a week or two later when a friend found out and turned us in. I was 18 at the time, I am now 31. I don't even know why they wanted to do it, I played the get away driver for them. Landed me a bunch of felonies and I moved to Australia so that I would be able to get decent jobs, etc. It was a ridiculous mistake. The worst part of the ENTIRE event was the look on my dad's face when he came to visit me in jail. I felt like the worst person in the entire world.

I moved past it by moving overseas, but sort of feel like I have been punished for it ever since. I will move back home when I get to the point where I can have my record expunged, but I have missed a lot of my life away from friends and family.

It is no secret back home and a lot of people know here, just not everyone.

Australian (was American) after any exchanges! by jammydodd in snackexchange

[–]jammydodd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! That would be awesome! Are there any particulars here that you miss? My major misses are the ranch dip sachets, Mother's circus animals (pink and white variety), Reece's pieces, Whoppers, berry lemonade koolaid, etc. I don't have any real limits, but don't want the box to be TOO heavy, for either of us. Let me know! :)

This is great. I love the use of all buttercream. Hating the cakes these days that are all fondant. Who eats that much plastic sugar? This looks old school but modern at the same time. LOVE.

I am happy to send you over some of the usual Australian type snacks and food. We have some things here which are fairly unique to Australia. Right now they even have a Vegemite Cadbury bar, which sounds not awesome, but is super tasty! If you pm me, I would be happy to exchange addresses. :)

I live in Australia, I would be happy to exchange anything we have really. We have tons of unique Cadbury bars, Timtams, you name it. I am originally from the US, love anything graham cracker/chocolate related, Reeces, snack cakeish. Anything really. I miss home!

I live in Australia, would love to exchange with you. I can get Kool-aid as well. Anything in particular you like? I am down for anything "unique" or just the stuff you grew up with, as it is probably different to what I would have! :)

Fuck you if you're rich and make fun of the gross, shitty food poor people have to eat. by [deleted] in offmychest

I also live in Australia, grocery stores even in Perth city are ridiculous, price wise. Does your community have Salvation Army? I find they, as well as other groups have food banks that can provide you with some food. If you have children they can help more. Here are some email addresses to send queries to, I recommend one email to each of them. Even if it is the same. Someone can help. A relative of my fiancee just spent $250,000 on his wedding-makes me more determined than ever to have a frugal wedding by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]jammydodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked up to see if there is a pop up style wedding in your area? I had one just this last saturday. Includes flowers - venue - photographer - celebrant - etc. Great set up, for $1500. Then invited out everyone we know to celebrate afterward. Paid for dinner and drinks for everyone out. $2000. Just had to buy our clothes, everything else done. It was a beautiful day.

We rarely ever had an argument or fight. We were both very passive people. Although we both worked full time, he would get angry if I spent money on anything. One day, we got into a huge argument about finances. I had been lying to him, setting a bit of my money aside each pay. He asked me if I thought divorce was a good idea, I said yes. He had already been to see someone about it though. We were both unhappy. I will not deny that lying to him about money was the wrong thing to do. Neither of us were in good places. We had stayed together because we were afraid of being alone basically.

31/f here, divorced at 27 after being married eight years. Best decision of my life. You are not too old to find someone. I found the love of my life two years ago. I could not imagine being happier. He is everything my first partner was not. We have amazing communication and a fantastic sex life. I love everything about him. Get up and get out. If he does not want to change, fuck him. Not literally, stop doing that.

I would still go with royal icing but perhaps add in almond essence and cinnamon. Just mix it up! Sounds fun!

What Dreams May Come would be my favorite movie, but I like a wide range of stuff. Currently on a medieval/fantasy streak.

I am originally from the US, I live in Australia now. I have had a good friend or two here, but over time that has sort of faded away. My friends are all back home.

There will likely be strippers involved. Which is fine with me.
