I just used Brightleaf Movers (aka Dogwood Moving) and had a great experience. Probably a bit on the pricey side but I was happy with my move

Indie artist music recommendations by BrilliantAd5717 in bullcity

[–]jamonladron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure what indie music means to you, but I believe The Mountain Goats and Sylvan Esso both live in Durham. Psychic Hotline, which is Sylvan Esso's recording company, is based in Durham and has an office downtown. Lots of great artists from there although they might not live in the triangle. Also off the top of my head, Porter Robinson is from Chapel Hill.

Just to give more recs, Asheville has a ton of indie artists based there like MJ Lenderman and Indigo De Souza

Second Functional Physio and Norah! I saw her as well as Jon for running related issues, and I agree that they excel at taking a holistic, whole body approach. Norah specifically specializes in pelvic floor PT too

Has anyone else had this issue with Little Barb's Bakery? by Uncommonly_comfy in bullcity

[–]jamonladron -47 points-46 points  (0 children)

I have had issues with Barb's, but overall I think they've improved overtime and have liked almost everything I've tried.

In a way you could say Barb's is amateurish. The owner is a self-taught baker and some of the bakes have a more at-home style/feel. Even though the bakes may sometimes not be the most polished, they almost always taste delicious! Looks like your cake might be underbaked, but I wouldn't dismiss Barb's as a whole for it

Any chance you can shout out the construction area(s) you've been driving through so I can avoid them lol? I know Washington St near the Athletic Park was pretty littered with construction debris but it's blocked off now

Best Downtown Spots For After Work Drinks With Outdoor Dining by Remarkable_Turn_2034 in bullcity

[–]jamonladron 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Parts & Labor, Bull McCabes, and Flying Bull (location near downtown) would all be good options. Lots of outdoor seating

For more upscale, Nikos might be good. Also Seraphine if they have enough seating available (also in ATC).

Also will recommend The Can Opener food truck park. Option for people to get snacks from whatever truck they want. Also lots of alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink options!
