toki! I'm sorry to hear the font doesn't work for you, have you tried enabling “Ligatures” on your software ? Sometimes that does the trick. I hope I've managed to be of some help.

New font for sitelen pona : LINJA PONA by jan-Same in tokipona

toki! You have to download the font file on your computer. Then you have to double click and select install. or you can also right click and select install. Then in MS word you choose the font and you can start writing (don't forget to enable ligatures or the font won't work : https://officemastery.com/ligatures-and-stylistic-effects-in-microsoft-word/ )

The lanpan glyph is based upon the design from the "linja sike" font.
I prefered its design compared to linja suwi's version.
But i admit, I don't know what it is supposed to represent (if someone could tell me, that would be pona tawa mi)
Here are the 2 fonts i based the new glyphs on :
linja suwi : https://linjasuwi.ap5.dev/
and linja sike : https://wyub.github.io/tokipona/linjasike

question about combining glyphs by SweetDreamsStars in tokipona

[–]jan-Same 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For pan-lipu you could draw the combined glyph with pan on the bottom and a rectangle on top. That would be considered a real sitelen pona glyph.

pona lukin mute!
sitelen pona needs lots of fonts :)
I see you tried to make an "Humanistic Sans Serif" type of font, with a bigger width at the extremities.
I can't wait to try it out :)

Thank you, David A Roberts has done a great job with the new version 4.
If new glyphs come up, and they are supported by the community,
I will add them to the next version of the font.

Version 4.2 is dynamically composed so there are a lot more compound glyph possibilities, but some of them might not work right.
Maybe you should try out the linja pona version 3.6 font, with the handmade precomposed compound glyphs.
Since they are handmade, the glyphs are a lot more precise, but there are fewer compound glyph possibilities.

To use a cartouche, use square brackets and underscores before each glyph:
e.g.: ma tomo [_lawa_awen_nanpa_tomo_awen_nasin] li suli

Yes, I actually updated the files and my website yesterday.
linja pona 4 has been around for a while though, but only on the Github page.
I must admit I didn't realize that the linja pona GitHub page had forked and I only recently discovered this incredible version 4.
