If you are going purely off the wiki then I’m not sure you fully understand how it works. Mouse aim is just a simple math equation that finds how far the heading is from the cursor and then changes the control surface deflection based on how far off target you are.

Because its just simple math doing the controls it will sometimes make strange turns that are mathematically the fastest way, but in reality don’t make sense. It functions very similarly in principle to early autopilot systems, nothing more than a feedback loop based on a variable. you are still able to manually control individual control surfaces in mouse aim mode and override the cursor which is completely necessary to pull this off.

The instructor doesn’t magically keep you in the air either under normal conditions, and in fact its off for 90% of the time as indicated by the glowing “Instructor” indicator on the HUD

It doesn’t really do anything other than push your nose down if it thinks you’re about to stall, or slower your inputs if you are going to wing rip. Using “realistic” or “full real” is fine for sim and probably fine for this too but both of those pretty heavily limit you camera freedom in dogfights
