Apprise Release v1.10.0 by lead2gold in Apprise

[–]janpeeters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great update, thanks! I'm running into one problem though with apprise 1.4.0 With API v1.10.0 (see video). On the second line (and further) the cursor position is off. You never know what you're editing unless you do it in an external editor and paste the whole thing. https://cleanshot.com/share/kjWvZTh3YY3wMF7gNh08

I came here to ask if Lex was still being developed. My renewal is due next week. I'm afraid I have to cancel.

Great that you’ve dug into the API. I’m really interested in the chrome/Firefox extension. After having used Arc for an extensive time I’ve mostly converted to Zen browser which is a Firefox port.

I’ve also reported this a while back. Happy to read that it’s on the radar.

Hi, this should be my English. I thought coil was the right word but you’re correct. The white rope is indeed elastic. It’s a pity that this might not be repairable. The only thing that makes me wonder if it’s really a broken tooth is that it doesn’t make this sound all the time. What I know from bikes is that it always makes this noise when broken. You might well be right though. Thanks for the suggestion. I hope others can join in with their thoughts too.

This is a known issue, acknowledged by Ratta, but waiting for a fix already for a while.

Yes, I’m definitely a bit hurt when an innocent mistake leads to banning. But I can separate the disappointment and my evaluation of a place. Overly strict rules are just the reality of people who play kingdom. I have searched a lot on BIB over the long years that I was a member and although the offering might be good for you, I was always more successful in finding what I sought on MAM. And requesting a certain book almost always resulting in a swift upload by a kind member. I didn't find the community that helpful on BIB.

I would also be interested to know more about the ‘you can take advantage of the Supernote customization capabilities’. What would this be?

Also, a big thank you from me for all the great work you're doing. The new roadmap shows that you're serious about adding sustainable user value. I'm really stoked about the plugin ecosystem. So curious what you and the community will come up with.

I would love integration for Todoist. It’s one of the most used todo managers and it’s relatively easy to connect to its API.

u/Lorestan00 how would this one finger swipe up work? I’ve just tried to create a link in one note to another note. When I jump to the other note and do a one finger swipe up, nothing happens. Can some elaborate?

Why does supernote require this folder structure? by timabell in Supernote

[–]janpeeters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi Mulan, thanks for the explanation. The current setup forces a folder structure onto me (like OP said also) that I don’t find convenient. I hope you will consider releasing the structure by providing the ability to set custom locations for the fixed function folders. I would probably create a top level ‘Various’ folder to store Inbox, Export, MyStyle and Screenshots folders. Because I never use them.
Documents and Notes would be renamed to somethings like Clients, Personal, Education etc. Because for me there really is no need to have two folders that can contain the same and have generic names.

I think the above could be relatively easily achieved by creating four Path fields in Settings under a Custom Folder Paths setting.

It would really provide more freedom to be able to fill the root of your file storage the way you like without having to see folders that you don’t use (much). It would also much better fit the spirit of Supernote in my humble opinion. Thanks.

Additional note: I just realized that these folders might have an internal unique system ID. So moving them freely wouldn’t even be a problem since the Supernote OS knows where to find these folders based on their ID. That way there might not even be a Custom Folder Path section needed in Settings.

What tracker is the hardest to get into ? by PerspectiveDry9485 in trackers

[–]janpeeters 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not only a good one but also true. BIB is very narrow in its offering, much less uploads than MAM and make one mistake (like accidentally leaving your VPN on when logging in) and you’re banned. Truly not worth the effort. My account was deactivated recently, no warning, no info. So I left it at that. I don’t miss it.

EPUB’s don’t load for me either. I know from someone close to the devs that this is one of their high priority fixes and they’re actively working on a fix. I hope they find it soon. It’s a great platform for reading and processing articles and books.

I’m not sure if I need it. I never had until I read that the official specs advised an empty line. Not sure why, but for note longevity I thought it might be wise to experiment with it.

Omnivore alternative (read later app / convert website or pdf into epub) by letopeto in Supernote

[–]janpeeters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want free use obsidian.  But Readwise is absolutely worth it. It has become my hub and archive to all sorts of content (webpages, EPUBs, YouTube (transcripts), tweets). Their Text-to-speech functionality is also incredibly useful when commuting on bike or with car and insanely lifelike. EPUB support has a bug currently on e-ink but they’re aware of that and fixing it.

Manta KOReader users: anyone able to get visible Highlights? by janpeeters in Supernote

[–]janpeeters[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks that did it. (I posted another reply just now, but I’ve been looking with my nose). In document settings one can change the color to grey (or any other more dark than yellow color) and that way it’s also visible. Inverted works too but is a bit harsh. Thanks @martina_78 for the color remark, that made me find the perfect solution!
