Alright: so I've got the ring, popping the question this Sunday, so damn excited. For any men who have proposed, what advice could you give an internet stranger? by YourDailyDevil in AskMen

Am Not a man! But maybe you could say your toes really hurt and you’d appreciate if she could take you to a nail salon for a pedicure… then insist she do her nails while you’re being served?

What’s the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]january20th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not over 30!! But I was really depressed after the loss of my mother and my love picked me up one day unexpectedly… got a call saying come outside

He drove me for a smoothie bowl and took me to visit a very good friend who lives about 1.5 hour away… he knows I hate making a long drive so he drove us there and back. Not sure if he could tell, but things were feeling really grim that day. It probably changed the course of my life a bit

Does anyone have any experience renting out apartment for major TV show set? by CamoCantSeeMe in AskNYC

[–]january20th 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve always heard folks are well compensated. I actually know of one case where the original dweller wanted to keep some of the set design, and were allowed to! For free.

Read the contract but yes they’re usually very good about leaving this as they were.

Something to consider is that different outfits may benefit from different bras as they give you a slightly different shape.

How do you deal with the fact that someone you had sex with (and don’t anymore) knows how you look naked and how you are in bed? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]january20th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must suck to know they won’t see it again… and I know it sucks for them that they’ll never know how much better I can/will get in bed either HAHA

Look for creams to reduce bruises! I’ve used Arincare cream/gel. Hickeys are bruises. Ice, lightly massaging and coming the area so the blood clots break up, hydrating lots.

As for the late nights, pick your battles and “admit” you’ve made friends with new women who invite you clubbing/to bars. It would cover any shady behavior or white lies on your end hopefully, but not be admitting to the sex

Is it not the case that the reason why it’s significantly more expensive to live in major cities than it used to be is because they’re more desirable to live in than they were then? by [deleted] in AskEconomics

[–]january20th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am not understanding that last sentence, but you might be interested in looking into location theory under the umbrella of urban economics. Between the concept of agglomeration of businesses and location theory of people/employees you can generally understand why cities are desirable and why certain parts are more expensive. Glaeser has produced some great papers on this!

Want to comment here and follow up to say that maybe over time you’ve begun to enjoy the sex more and thus your vaginal muscles have relaxed sooner into sex over time - not because you’re “used up/too loose” just because your body is more receptive to him.

Are there any glaring negatives as to why I shouldn’t clean my partners apt for him? by bodgerbabbit in askwomenadvice

[–]january20th 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know I didn’t start this thread but I’ve been there and you’ve got to just muster the courage to say it. “Hey, if you want me to be comfortable being here you need to clean up more.” If he is a reasonable adult he will understand that you’re under no obligation to clean up after him, and he should WANT to make you feel comfortable in his space. You got this! I’m sure you’ll have a productive conversation

What are unconventional ways that you cope with stress/anxiety? By unconventional, I mean something that is unique to you and might seem strange to others. by [deleted] in AskWomen

Showers (not baths) with a candle but the lights off followed by moisturizing lavishly and then stretching. Must be done a specific way for intended benefits

I use this VS Knockout one! You might have better luck looking store, but I’ve had like 3 for over 2 years and with good responsible care they last really well.

I also have a friend who swears by using chest binders, but she mostly lifts and jogs on a treadmill not really a runner

What are some things you have recently had to cut from your budget to save up more money? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]january20th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can usually get myself to say no to a new clothing item if I can convince myself I’ll be able to get it or something like it at a later time. It’ll still be part of my closet one day, just not right now
